CEDAR RAPIDS

Beatrice S. "Betty" Turner, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Evergreen Estates I following a long illness. Services: 3 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Robert Dagget of Sharon United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Beatrice is survived by two brothers, Donald Lane (Bernice) of Cedar Rapids and William Lane (Dot) of Robins; a sister, Kathryn Harris of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett, in 2001; two brothers, George and Robert Lane; and a sister, Arlene Frank.

Beatrice was born Jan. 30, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ralph and Garnet (Douglas) Lane . She married Emmett L. Turner Nov. 19, 1965, at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Beatrice worked for many years for Kilborn Photo Paper.

NOTE: Beatrice's mother, Garnet Douglas, died December 11, 1918 of      influenza. Her father then married Beatrice's step-mothers, Mary E. __?__ before January 1920 and Dulcie Fern Kimberling ?in May 1926.

She was buried in June 2009 at Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA, Findagrave #114892745.

     Bertha V. Lane was born on 10 February 1904.¹ She was the daughter of Clyde Lane and Ella N. Eastman.¹

     Callie Lane married Dave Rich circa 1893.

     Catherine Lane was born circa 1838 at Ireland.¹ She married John Eagan on 24 September 1856 at Preble Co., OH, ceremony by James F. Kearney.

     Clyde Lane married Ella N. Eastman, daughter of Arthur Randall Eastman and Mary Lee, on 22 November 1903.¹ Clyde Lane and Ella N. Eastman were divorced.¹

     Daisy Lane was born on 7 September 1865 at Sparta, Hancock Co., GA. She was the daughter of Rev. James Sterling Lane and Sophronia Jacob Audas. Daisy Lane married Rev. Oscar Fitzgerald Sensabaugh, son of Dr. Leonidas Franklin Sensabaugh and Mary Caroline Fitzgerald, on 6 March 1890 at Santa Fe, Santa Fe Co., New Mexico Territory. Daisy Lane died on 4 September 1962 at Denver, Denver Co., CO, at age 96

SERVICES SET TUESDAY FOR MRS SENSABAUGH
Funeral services for Mrs Daisy L Sensabaugh, 97, of 3426 McFarlin, former missionary to Apache Indians at Santa Fe, N.M., and widow of the Rev O F Sensabaugh, a Methodist minister for 77 years, will be held at 10 am Tuesday in Cox Chapel, Highland Park Mathodist Church. Burial at Grove Hill Cemetery.

Mrs Sensabaugh died in Denver, Colo. while visiting her daughter.

Her husband served 27 years as a presiding elder of the Methodist Districts in Texas. He rose from a circuit riding preacher in western Colorado to positions including commissioner at the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

Mr. and Mrs Sensabaugh were married in 1890 when she was a missionary and he was a pastor in Saguache, Colo. He died in 1956.

Survivors: a daughter, Mrs Mai McCleskey of Denver
a son, Oscar Sensabaugh of Ballinger, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren two great great grandchildren.

She was buried in September 1962 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas, Dallas Co., TX, Findagrave #64817314.

     Ebenezer Lane was born on 11 December 1694 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. He was the son of Ebenezer Lane and Hannah Hersey. Ebenezer Lane married Mary Leavitt, daughter of Israel Leavitt and Lydia Jackson, on 16 November 1717 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. Ebenezer Lane died on 30 May 1777 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA, at age 82.

     Elizabeth Lane was born on 1 July 1739 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. She was the daughter of Ebenezer Lane and Mary Leavitt. Elizabeth Lane died on 15 August 1746 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA, at age 7.

     Frances Lucille Lane was born on 3 March 1894 at Hammond, Lake Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. Frank Lesley Lane and Lydia Frances Fisher.¹ Frances Lucille Lane married Elton E. Richter, son of Charles Richter and Lillian Perry, on 2 September 1922, Ceremony by Rev. A. E. Monger.¹

     Frank Lane married Emma Hawkins, daughter of Thomas Hawkins and Mary Ann McClees, on 25 December 1887.

     Dr. Frank Lesley Lane was born on 2 June 1863.¹ He was the son of Joseph W. Lane and Mary Elizabeth Rollier.¹ Dr. Frank Lesley Lane married Lydia Frances Fisher, daughter of Jacob Fisher and Sarah Ann Moomaw, on 28 June 1892, Ceremony by Rev. A. B. Chaffee.¹ Dr. Frank Lesley Lane died on 1 July 1911 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., IN, at age 48.¹

     Gail Elizabeth Lane was born on 5 May 1937 at Los Angeles Co., CA, twin of Theodore Horace Lane, Jr. (1937 - 1988.) She was the daughter of Theodore Horace Lane and Jeannette Wells. Gail Elizabeth Lane died on 18 January 2001 at Orange Co., CA, at age 63 per SSDI, last residence Santa Ana.

     Lt. Col. Gilbert Ide Lane was born on 29 July 1918 at Stevens Co., WA. He married Kathryn Dodge. Lt. Col. Gilbert Ide Lane and Kathryn Dodge were divorced in March 1966 at San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA. Lt. Col. Gilbert Ide Lane died on 14 July 1977 at San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA, at age 58.      Hannah Lane was born on 13 February 1689 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. She was the daughter of Ebenezer Lane and Hannah Hersey. Hannah Lane married Abraham Leavitt, son of Israel Leavitt and Lydia Jackson, on 23 August 1714 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA. Hannah Lane died on 16 June 1726 at Hingham, Plymouth Co., MA, at age 37.

     Hannah Minerva Lane was born on 2 April 1835 at Union Twp., Licking Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Lane and Elizabeth Horne. Hannah Minerva Lane married John Larimore, son of James Larimore and Ann Eliza DeWald, on 9 November 1854. Hannah Minerva Lane lived in 1911 at Licking Co., OH. Mrs. John Larimore
Hannah Minerva Lane, only daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Lane, was born April 2, 1835 and grew to womanhood on a farm in Union township. She lived a very simple and unpretentious life due to the simplicity of her surroundings.

On November 9, 1854, at the age of 19 years, she was married to John Larimore, with whom she lived happily for 66 years when he was called to precede her to his Heavenly Home. She died on the morning of July 29. Her afflictions in the latter part of her life were many, but were borne with marked patience and welcomed death as a release from her suffering.

Mrs. Larimore was the mother of 13 children, 9 of whom live to mourn the loss of a devoted christian mother. They are as follows Wm. G. of Union Station; Geo. L., Oklahoma City, Okla; Richard C., Winfield, KY; Bruce L., Atlanta, Ga; Dr. Fred B., New Philadelphia, O; Mrs. John Black, Hebron, O; Mrs Sherman White, Bucyrus; Mrs F. L. Perry, Delaware; Mrs. Jessie Brown of the home. All of the children were here attending the funeral except Richard and Bruce, they having recently been here visiting their mother and were unable to be present. The **************** (missing) ***laws, John Black and Sherman White, and grandsons, Richard Black.

The funeral services were held at the home yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Dr. C. L. Williams assisted by Rev. C. N. Harford, former pastor of Licking church of which she was a member, officiating. Interment was made in Maple Grove cemetery.

The flowers were many and beautiful but not more beautiful than the mother's face that rested so peacefully among them. Thus could we leave her, and in memory keep her, as sweely reposing among the beautiful and fragrant flowers.

     Harry Mervin Morris Lane was born on 15 July 1900 at Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN. He was the son of Carrie Poffenberger.¹ Harry Mervin Morris Lane married Gladys Adeline Parrett, daughter of William Leonard Parrett and Maggie Jane Pinkerton, on 17 July 1931. Harry Mervin Morris Lane died on 30 September 1972 at Danville, Hendricks Co., IN, at age 72. He was buried in October 1972 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, Hendricks Co., IN, Findagrave #89021523.

     James Edgar Lane was born on 12 April 1858 at Linn Co., MO.¹ He married Loretta A. Stover, daughter of Henry Francis Stover and Phoebe Jane Lightfoot, on 21 December 1884 at Carroll Co., MO, Four children born, three living as of 1900 census.¹

     James J. Lane was born on 8 May 1845 at Caldwell Co., MO. He married Mary Frances Smith on 19 February 1865. James J. Lane died on 17 June 1913 at Caldwell Co., MO, at age 68. He was buried on 20 June 1913 at Black Oak Cemetery, Braymer, Caldwell Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 18200807.

     Rev. James Sterling Lane was born on 27 February 1818 at Morgan Co., GA. He married Sophronia Jacob Audas. Rev. James Sterling Lane died on 8 December 1882 at Georgetown, Williamson Co., TX, at age 64. He was buried in December 1882 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Georgetown, Williamson Co., TX, Findagrave #8294655.
