According to the 1880 census, Philadelphia, Dist. 150, p.481C, Charles was not the biological son of "Perry" Munzinger, but in fact was his stepson. As per 1880, Charles and both his parents were born in Ohio. His mother appears to have been "Perry's" wife. As of 1880, both Perry and Charles gave their occupation as "Engineer". DLB 2012.

From the marriage certificate (25 May 1813), written in old French because this area was part of Napoleon's French Empire at that time, we learn that young Christian Adam Munzinger was a "laboreur" and "pircepteur."4

Christian Adam Munzinger immigrated on 5 September 1828 to Port of New York, New York, NY; On the ship Helen from Le Havre, with his father, wife, and sons Christian (John), Charles, Theobald (David), Philip, and Jacob.

He lived in 1830 at Wellington Twp., Lorain Co., OH.5 He lived on 29 July 1850 at Russia Twp., Lorain Co., OH.6 He died before 19 June 1860 at Russia Twp., Lorain Co., OH, He does not appear in the 1860 census. His wife Eva is found living in the household of son Henry. His grandson James M. Munsinger, born 1857, had a clear recollection of his grandfather's funeral, so it must have occurred shortly before the 1860 census. A grave location has never been found.
