SAN JOAQUIN – Services for William Otho Lenex, 67, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lisle Chapel in Fresno. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Laton.

Mr. Laton (sic) died Saturday.

He was a native of Arkansas. He had lived in the Kerman 10 years and 40 years in Tranquility. He was a farm laborer.

Surviving are two son, Kenneth D. of Bakersfield and James O. of Oklahoma; two brothers, Harlen and Arvie, both of Oklahoma; three sisters, Violet Smith of San Joaquin, Norma Clark of Huron and Alpha Hall of Laton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Milton P. Lent Funeral Set

Burial in Crown Hill cemetery will follow services for Milton Purdy Lent, age seventy-seven, a traveling representative of chemical firms more than twenty-five years, who died at his home, 4240 Cornelius avenue. Rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Flanner & Buchanan mortuary, the Rev. Virgil D. Ragan, pastor of the Fairview Presbyterian church officiating.

A native of Dresden, Ontario, Mr. Lent studied pharmacy as an apprentice there and later was graduated from the Ontario College of Pharmacy in Toronto. He opened his own business in Toronto but later sold his store to become a representative of a Cleveland firm and later for a New York company. He was a member of the Masonic order and the Fairview church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Lent and four sisters, Mrs. Cora Cornwall, Morpeth, Ontario; Mrs. D. Gundrum, Toledo; Mrs. John D. Hull, Revere, Mass., and Mrs. Wallace Gilbert, Powell River, British Columbia.

He began military service on 2 March 1942 WW II service, U.S. Navy, enlisted, discharged 14 OCT 1945. He married Annabell Caroline Cain, daughter of William A. Cain and Isadora E. Snapp, in 1944. Alfred Jackson Leonard and Annabell Caroline Cain were divorced. Alfred Jackson Leonard died on 8 September 1985 at Orange Co., CA, at age 76.

     Alice Matilda Leonard was born on 27 July 1861 at Iowa; daughter of Charles P. and Dianna (Davis) Leonard. She married John T. Silver, son of David Edwin Silver and Sarah Jane Tallman. Alice Matilda Leonard died on 13 October 1935 at Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 74. She was buried in October 1935 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Ottawa Co., KS, Findagrave #65424161.
