     Leada May Lewis was born on 8 June 1928 at Wabash, Wabash Co., IN. She was the daughter of Merlin Leon Lewis and Geraldine Barnes. Leada May Lewis married Moyne W. Margaret Tallman, age 88 of Morley, died Thursday August 29, 2002 at the Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa, following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Interment will be in the Green Center Cemetery, Morley. Pastor Pat Slater will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 8 Monday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Surviving is her son Jim (Bev) Tallman, Olin, a brother-in-law, Lester Tallman, Cedar Rapids, 6 Grandchildren, 7 great-Grandchildren, 1 great-great-Grandson, and her constant companion, Lady. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, Virgil, 2 sons, Marvin and Melvin and a sister, Mildred. MargareT Lewis was born March 18, 1914 in Linn County, Iowa near Anamosa. She was the daughter of Ward and Jessie Maxwell, Lewis. Margaret graduated from the Morley Community Schools in 1931. Margaret Lewis and Virgil E. Tallman were married July 3, 1931 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Morley area where they purchased a farm in 1947. They retired from active farming in the mid 1970's. Margaret was also employed at the Anamosa Community Hospital for many years. Margaret was a member of the Jones County Historical Society, and a volunteer at Edinburgh days. She had also assisted in the Pioneer Cemetery Restoration.

She was buried in 2002 at Green Center Cemetery, Morley, Jones Co., IA, Findagrave #55912319.

     Marion Lewis married Ethel Marie Fuehrer. Marion Lewis was born on 17 February 1911. He died on 7 November 1983 at Vinton, Benton Co., IA, at age 72.

     Mary Lewis was the daughter of Stephen Lewis and Elizabeth (?)¹ Mary Lewis married Jonas H. Gilbert, son of Israel Gilbert and Mary Horning, on 21 December 1886, Ceremony by Rev. Jacob Crumwine.¹

     Mary Ellen Lewis was born on 22 January 1910. She was the daughter of Frank Oliver Lewis and Della F. Taylor.      Merlin Leon Lewis was born on 6 January 1905 at Wabash, Wabash Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Wilford Roscoe Lewis and Ethel Sonner.¹ Merlin Leon Lewis married Geraldine Barnes circa 1927. Merlin Lewis, 53, Wabash R.R.1, who had been in failing health for two years, died at 3:50 p.m. Sunday in the Wabsh County Hospital.

A native of Wabash County, he was born Jan. 6, 1905 to Wilford and Ethel (Sommer) Lewis. His first marriage was to Geraldine Barnes and he later married Tessie Hawley.

The decedent was employed as a truck driver by Sposeep and Son.

Survivors include the widow, the father, one daughter, Mrs. Moyne (Leada May) Flack, Wabash; two step-sons, Robert Hawley, Peru and Richard Hawley, Wabash; four step-daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Gibson, Mrs. Ralph Daub, both of North Manchester, Mrs. Gene White, Wabash R.R.1 and Mrs. Richard Martin, Wabsh; 14 step-grandchildren and 1 great-step-grandchild.

Also surviving are one brother, Glen Lewis, Huntertown; and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Marks, Cottonwood, Ariz., Mrs. Clarence Carter, Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. John Dyezko, South Bend, Mrs. Edward Graves Sr. and Mrs Ray Chapman, Wabash. One brother preceded him in death.

The body was taken to the Eddingfield Mortuary where funeral services will be in the chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday. #Burial will be in Falls cemetery.

     Millie Olive Lewis was born in February 1871 at Benton Co., IA. She married Norman Elsworth Cable before 1894. Millie Olive Lewis died in 1920 at Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA.

     Nancy Caroline Lewis was born on 28 April 1868 at Corder, LaFayette Co., MO. She was the daughter of John Wiatt Lewis and Emily Elizabeth Brumback. Nancy Caroline Lewis married James Marshall Frazier on 25 April 1888. Nancy Caroline Lewis died on 21 January 1939 at Geary, Blaine Co., OK, at age 70.

     Nathan Lewis was born in 1782. He was the son of Didymus Lewis and Phoebe Matlack. Nathan Lewis married Hannah Goodwin, daughter of John Goodwin and Mary Starr, on 16 March 1814 at Newtown Meeting, Chester Co., PA. Nathan Lewis died in 1868.

     Nellie Dorothy Lewis was born on 17 December 1912 at Horseshoe Bend, Boise Co., ID.¹ She was the daughter of Leonard Lewis and Minnie Irene Miller.¹ Nellie Dorothy Lewis died on 10 January 1923 at age 10.¹

     Olive Caroline Lewis was born on 18 January 1864 at California. She married George Woodsen MacDonald on 9 April 1882 at Ft. Jones, Siskiyou Co., CA. Olive Caroline Lewis died on 10 March 1940 at Del Norte Co., CA, at age 76.

     Opal Geneva Lewis was born on 1 December 1923 at Sapulpa, Creek Co., OK. She was the daughter of Seth Austin Lewis and Alma Effie Hesterlee. Opal Geneva Lewis married Lyle Vance Burck, son of Oscar Carl Burck and Inez Marie Stouffer, on 22 October 1942 at Chelan Co., WA. Opal Geneva Lewis died on 1 July 2013 at Moses Lake, Grant Co., WA, at age 89.

     Ora S. Lewis was born on 23 June 1918. She married Bernard Paul Windle, son of Arley W. Windle and Maude F. Johnson, on 6 September 1952 at Paxton, Ford Co., IL. Ora S. Lewis died on 23 April 2002 at age 83. She was buried in April 2002 at Floral Hill Cemetery, Iroquois Co., IL, Findagrave #14446634.

     Oscar Lewis was born in March 1874 at Indiana. He was the son of Stanford Lewis and Mariah E. Reger.

     Parthenia Alice Lewis was born in August 1861 at Hampshire Co. (probably), VA (now WV).^1,2 She was the daughter of James Newton Lewis and Mary (?)¹ Parthenia Alice Lewis married John Albert Pownall, son of Isaac James Pownall and Rebecca Larimore, on 10 February 1886 at Hampshire Co., WV. Parthenia Alice Lewis died on 30 May 1901 at Romney District, Hampshire Co., WV, at age 39.

     Paul Lewis was born on 25 March 1710. He married Hannah Cushing. Paul Lewis died on 15 November 1785 at age 75.
