     James H. Loughead was born circa 1901 at Terre Haute, Vigo Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Thomas Loughead and Della Louise Rosimer.¹

     John Loughead was born on 7 April 1833 at Morgan Co., OH. He was the son of Francis Loughead and Phoebe Cox. John Loughead married Lavina Hunsaker, daughter of Matthew Hunsaker and Elizabeth Taylor. John Loughead lived on 21 July 1870 at Penn Twp., Sullivan Co., MO, Farming.¹ He lived on 1 June 1880 at Sherman Twp., Putnam Co., MO, Farming.² He married Margaret Altiser, daughter of Peter Altiser and Matilda Fredenburg, on 6 November 1889 at Milan, Sullivan Co., MO. John Loughead died on 9 May 1895 at Green City, Sullivan Co., MO, at age 62. He was buried in May 1895 at Hawkeye Cemetery, Green City, Sullivan Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 95996185.

     Dr. John Robert Loughead was born on 20 July 1922 at Unionville, Putnam Co., MO.¹ He was the son of George Robert Loughead and Esther Elizabeth Redmon.¹ Dr. John Robert Loughead died on 7 January 2013 at Poplar Bluff, Butler Co., MO, at age 90 Obituary (findagrave.com):

Dr. John Robert Loughead, 90, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013, at the Mark Twain Caring Center.

Dr. Loughead was born July 20, 1922, in Unionville, Missouri, to George Robert and Esther E. Loughead.

He was graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1940. In 1946, he received his degree in internal medicine from St. Louis University and he received his ENT specialty from Washington University in 1950. From 1948 to 1949 he was a captain in the United States Army serving as an internist at William Beaumont General Hospital, Fort Bliss, Texas, just outside of El Paso.

He returned to Poplar Bluff where practiced medicine at the Lucy Lee Hospital until his retirement. Dr. Loughead was an avid fisherman, hunter and played golf as a member of the West- Wood Hills Country Club for many years. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and often wrote poems some of which were published in The Ozarks Mountaineer, a regional literary magazine.

On March 3, 1946, he married Mary Ethel Swain of Poplar Bluff, who survives.

He is also survived by two daughters: Elizabeth Pokorny (Douglas) of Piedmont, Missouri and Rebecca Miller (Mike) of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Amy Lanier (Joe) of Raleigh, NC, John Pennington of Piedmont, MO; and Andrew Pokorny (Hope) of Farmington, MO and three great grandchildren.

On January 9, 2013, a private graveside service and burial was in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery. Cotrell Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff was in charge of arrangements.

     Joseph Conrad Loughead was born on 2 March 1831 at Front Royal, Warren Co., VA. He was the son of Thomas Loughead and Rebecca Ann Conrad. Joseph Conrad Loughead married Susan Hunsaker, daughter of Matthew Hunsaker and Elizabeth Taylor, on 19 April 1857 at Kiddville, Sullivan Co., MO. Joseph Conrad Loughead died on 19 January 1907 at Putnam Co., MO, at age 75. He was buried in January 1907 at West Liberty Cemetery, Lucerne, Putnam Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 14646909.

     Julius Gidney Loughead was born on 8 May 1894 at Sullivan Co., MO.¹ He was the son of John Loughead and Margaret Altiser.¹ Julius Gidney Loughead married Mary Elizabeth Myers, daughter of James William Myers and Elizabeth Ann Rupe, circa 1920. Julius Gidney Loughead died on 10 February 1961 at Sullivan Co., MO, at age 66. He was buried in February 1961 at Burnett Cemetery, Sullivan Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 22025931.

     Lavina L. Loughead was born on 2 May 1871 at Penn Twp., Sullivan Co., MO.¹ She was the daughter of John Loughead and Lavina Hunsaker.¹ Lavina L. Loughead died on 1 August 1901 at Green City, Sullivan Co., MO, at age 30.

     Lemuel Loughead was born on 7 February 1829 at Frederick or Warren Co., VA.¹ He was the son of Thomas Loughead and Rebecca Ann Conrad.¹ Lemuel Loughead married Sarah Hood on 3 December 1872 at Vigo Co., IN.² Lemuel Loughead died on 24 October 1898 at Fayette Twp., Vigo Co., IN, at age 69. He was buried in October 1898 at New Vermillion Cemetery, Terre Haute, Vigo Co., IN.

     Note: This individual appears in the censuses, in the Joseph Loughead family as a son, in both 1870 and 1880, but he does not appear in 1860 when he would have been a two year old child.
