Luella Lovin Earnest, 85, of Chuckey, died Thursday at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Earnest was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She attended Hiwassee College and at the age of 16 began teaching in Monroe County. After 20 years away from teaching to raise her children, she returned to teaching in Greene County at Chuckey Elementary School until her retirement at age 65.

"She was loved by her many friends and family. She enjoyed reading, the Christmas season, cooking and the color red. She will always be missed," her family stated.

Mrs. Earnest was preceded in death by her parents: John Harvey and Pearl Anna Young Lovin; two sisters: Grace Jones and Arbrie Bainbridge; and two brothers: Norman Lovin and Claude Lovin.

     Elizabeth E. Loving was born on 22 January 1871. She was the daughter of Starling Loving and Margaret Delia Noble.

     John Loving was born in 1853. He was the son of William Loving and Sue Wharton.

     Joseph S. Loving was born on 6 April 1857. He was the son of Starling Loving and Margaret Delia Noble.

     Kitty McDowell Loving was born on 31 January 1866. She was the daughter of Starling Loving and Margaret Delia Noble.

     Mary Noble Loving was born on 31 March 1859. She was the daughter of Starling Loving and Margaret Delia Noble. Mary Noble Loving died on 6 May 1871 at age 12.
