     Betty J. Lyons was born on 24 March 1923 Social Security records show 1924, however her mother died in July, 1923. She was the daughter of Harry F. Lyons and Mabel Margaret Smith.¹ Betty J. Lyons married Raymond Stanley Hill, son of Henry Garfield Hill and Josephine Belle Bishop. Betty J. Lyons died on 11 August 1985 at age 62.      Betty Marguerite Lyons was born on 4 June 1918 at Cambridge, Guernsey Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Fred Homer Lyons and Irene B. Location per Fred's WW I draft registration.^1,2 He was the son of John Lyons and Mary A. Marlow.³ Charles H. Lyons married Lunetta Frances Wendell, daughter of William James Wendell and Susannah A. Jeffery, on 2 July 1890 at Guernsey Co., OH, married thirteen years, three living children per 1900 census, but only Earl and Roy were listed on the census.²

Charles H. Lyons lived on 12 June 1900 at Wheeling Twp., Guernsey Co., OH, railroad laborer.² He died in February 1938 at Cambridge, Guernsey Co., OH, at age 70

Charles H. Lyons, 70, retired employee of the Guernsey Works (sheet Mill) of the Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corp. died Monday afternoon at 2:16 o'clock at his home, 540 Madison Avenue. His health had been failing the past two years and two weeks ago his condition became serious.

Mr. Lyons was born Nov. 23, 1867 and had been a resident of Cambridge the past 40 years. Several years ago he was retired on a pension from the sheet mill where he had been employed for many years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nettie Lyons, five sons, Earl C. and Roy B. Wyandotte, Mich., Fred H. Cambridge, James A. and Howard M. Lyons, Canton, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Whitaker, Barnesville, and Mrs. Mary White, Newark, one brother, Wilkinsburg, Pa and 11 grandchildren. Two sons are deceased.

The body was removed to the McMillen funeral home, South Tenth street, and was returned to the home Monday evening.

Earl Charles Lyons married Myrtle Lillian Davis, daughter of Richard B. Davis and Josephine Gill, on 3 September 1907 at Guernsey Co., OH, The 1910 census indicates that there was one child born and still living, but the child was not listed with the parents.² Earl Charles Lyons lived on 21 April 1910 at Cambridge, Guernsey Co., OH, heater in sheet (steel) mill.² He married Leah Smith on 30 June 1917 at Catlettsburg, Boyd Co., KY, This appears to have been an elopement, and was apparently quickly nullified. In the 1920 census, Leah Smith was back in her parents' home at Roseville, Muskingum County, marital status "S". She married Charles E. Ford after January, 1920 and died in 1943 at Greentown, Howard Co., Indiana. Earl Charles Lyons married Esther Faye Archer, daughter of Elisha Abraham Archer and Elizabeth Ann Nicholson, in 1923 at Ohio Co., WV. Howard M. Lyons, 67, of Cambridge Rt. 2 died Tuesday at Bethesda Hospital after a long illness.

Memorial service for James William "Jim" Lyons, 67, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home. Cremation will precede the service.

Mr. Lyons, who died Wednesday, was born in Wyandotte, Mich. He moved from Deer Park to Spokane two years ago.

After high school graduation, he served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1977 as a supervisor for General Telephone after 15 years.

He was a member of the Deer Park Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Lions Club.

Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Lyons, at home; three daughters, Linda Strobeck and Cynthia Krout, both of Camas, Wash., and Jerianne Newcomb of Vancouver, Wash; three sons, James Lyons II and Matthew Lyons, both of Spokane and Gregory Lyons of Wenatchee; four sisters, Suzanne Abbate of Tucson, Ariz., Ruth Haag and Melba Sciacca, both of Wyandotte, Mich., and Grace Mary Snay of Lincoln Park, Mich; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

John Paul Lyons, 55, Springfield, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 1994, in Cox Medical Center North due to a blood clot following surgery.

Born May 4, 1939, in Springfield, he was the first child of Lawrence Owen and Merle Edmonds Lyons. He attended St. Joseph and St. Agnes Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1958. He then attended Drury College for two years, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In 1961, he went to work for Commerce Bank where he was employed until taking medical retirement in 1980 due to complications of polio contracted in 1956. Despite ongoing health problems, he was an avid outdoorsman and was particularly fond of hunting and fishing. John was united in marriage on Nov. 10, 1967, to Priscilla Mae Snow.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Lyons, of the home; two sons, David Owen Lyons, Springfield, and Patrick Allen Lyons, of the home; his mother, Merle Lyons, Springfield; a sister and her husband, Sally and John McAlear, Springfield; two aunts and an uncle; and his lifelong friend, Don Greenwood, Nixa.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Owen Lyons, in 1968; and his father, Lawrence Owen Lyons, in 1990.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 1994, in St. Agnes Cathedral with the Revs. Thomas Keifer and David Dohogne officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery under direction of Human Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
