Mr. Lyons was born Nov. 23, 1867 and had been a resident of Cambridge the past 40 years. Several years ago he was retired on a pension from the sheet mill where he had been employed for many years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nettie Lyons, five sons, Earl C. and Roy B. Wyandotte, Mich., Fred H. Cambridge, James A. and Howard M. Lyons, Canton, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Whitaker, Barnesville, and Mrs. Mary White, Newark, one brother, Wilkinsburg, Pa and 11 grandchildren. Two sons are deceased.
The body was removed to the McMillen funeral home, South Tenth street, and was returned to the home Monday evening.

Mr. Lyons, who died Wednesday, was born in Wyandotte, Mich. He moved from Deer Park to Spokane two years ago.
After high school graduation, he served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1977 as a supervisor for General Telephone after 15 years.
He was a member of the Deer Park Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Lions Club.
Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Lyons, at home; three daughters, Linda Strobeck and Cynthia Krout, both of Camas, Wash., and Jerianne Newcomb of Vancouver, Wash; three sons, James Lyons II and Matthew Lyons, both of Spokane and Gregory Lyons of Wenatchee; four sisters, Suzanne Abbate of Tucson, Ariz., Ruth Haag and Melba Sciacca, both of Wyandotte, Mich., and Grace Mary Snay of Lincoln Park, Mich; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

After high school graduation, he served in the Navy during World War II. He retired in 1977 as a supervisor for General Telephone after 15 years.
He was a member of the Deer Park Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Lions Club.
Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Lyons, at home; three daughters, Linda Strobeck and Cynthia Krout, both of Camas, Wash., and Jerianne Newcomb of Vancouver, Wash; three sons, James Lyons II and Matthew Lyons, both of Spokane and Gregory Lyons of Wenatchee; four sisters, Suzanne Abbate of Tucson, Ariz., Ruth Haag and Melba Sciacca, both of Wyandotte, Mich., and Grace Mary Snay of Lincoln Park, Mich; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

John Paul Lyons, 55, Springfield, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 1994, in Cox Medical Center North due to a blood clot following surgery.
Born May 4, 1939, in Springfield, he was the first child of Lawrence Owen and Merle Edmonds Lyons. He attended St. Joseph and St. Agnes Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1958. He then attended Drury College for two years, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In 1961, he went to work for Commerce Bank where he was employed until taking medical retirement in 1980 due to complications of polio contracted in 1956. Despite ongoing health problems, he was an avid outdoorsman and was particularly fond of hunting and fishing. John was united in marriage on Nov. 10, 1967, to Priscilla Mae Snow.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Lyons, of the home; two sons, David Owen Lyons, Springfield, and Patrick Allen Lyons, of the home; his mother, Merle Lyons, Springfield; a sister and her husband, Sally and John McAlear, Springfield; two aunts and an uncle; and his lifelong friend, Don Greenwood, Nixa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Owen Lyons, in 1968; and his father, Lawrence Owen Lyons, in 1990.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 1994, in St. Agnes Cathedral with the Revs. Thomas Keifer and David Dohogne officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery under direction of Human Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
