KINGSPORT - Stephen Compton (Swampy) McClellan, 53, died late Sunday evening (Jan. 2, 2005) at his residence with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Kingsport, he was a son of Shirley Compton McClellan and the late James Edward McClellan. He was an ASE certified auto mechanic and had worked at several local auto repair facilities. He was self-employed at the time of his death. Surviving are his mother, Shirley McClellan of Kingsport; children, Melanie McClellan Rhea of Elizabethton and Melissa McClellan of Johnson City; brothers, Tony McClellan of Blackwater, Va., Charles and wife, Rose McClellan of Baltimore, Md; grandchildren, Brandon Rhea, Allison Pierce and Sierra Pierce; brother-at-heart, Benny Lowe; special cousin, Johnny Ray Castle; several nieces and nephews; many special friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Delta Conklin and Eleanor Graham of Adventa Hospice for their wonderful care and support during Steve's illness. GEORGE McCLINTIC RITES TO BE SUNDAY AT MIAMI
Miami, Okla., June 28 - George McClintic, retired mail carrier living at 413 First Street, Southeast, died at 11 o'clock last night in Miami Baptist hospital.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Sib Carroll and Mrs. Sam Dunnifan of Miami, Mrs. W. H. Schooley of Coffeyville and Mrs. Walter Shepperd of Commerce, and three sons, Ray McClintic of Kansas City, Mo., Carl McClintic of Kansas City, Kan., and Harold McClintic of Hood River, Ore.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Nazarene church. Burial will be in the G.A.R. cemetery under the direction of the Durall funeral home of Picher.

     Mary Belle McClintic was born on 4 August 1923 at Ottawa Co. (probably), OK. She was the daughter of William Harold McClintic and Viola Judy Mathis. Mary Belle McClintic married Virgil M. Waybright, son of Charles Waybright and Lue Triplett. Mary Belle McClintic died on 20 August 2008 at age 85.

Patsy L. "Pat" Betts, 82, of Hutchinson, died July 26, 2012, at Dillon Living Center. Pat was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Miami, Okla., the daughter of William H. and Viola Mathis McClintic. She attended school in Miami, and graduated from Miami High School in 1946. She was a homemaker. Pat was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Hutchinson.
Pat married Henry A. Betts on July 20, 1946, in Hood River, Ore. He died July 26, 1998. Survivors include: a son, Cliff Betts and his wife Lila of Hutchinson; a daughter, Mary Marlow and husband Gary of Vallejo, Calif; a brother, Bill McClintic of Miami, Okla; three granddaughters, Diann Kargi and husband Ertugrul of Hutchinson, Rebecca Mehlum and husband John, and Melissa Baxter and husband Robert, all Vallejo, Calif; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Allen, J.R. Mehlum, and Curtis Mehlum. Pat was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Johnny, and Bob McClintic; and four sisters, Maxine Carroll, Shirley Weaver, Mary Waybright, and Ruth McClintic, as a baby.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Gary Salmans presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Reno County, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
