Carl Alex McDonald was christened on 8 August 1909 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walton, Lancaster Co., NE. He died on 7 September 1979 at Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE, at age 71.

     Charles Edgar McDonald was born on 4 December 1906 at Polk Co., NE.¹ He was the son of Alphonso Burch McDaniel and Jessie Pearl McLain.¹ Charles Edgar McDonald lived in April 1930 at Lloyd Twp., Dickinson Co., IA.

     Clarence Franklin McDonald was born circa August 1909 at Redfield, Dallas Co., IA.¹ He was the son of Alphonso Burch McDaniel and Jessie Pearl McLain.¹ Clarence Franklin McDonald married Eva Mae Malcolm, daughter of Frank Malcolm and Bertha Nancy Webb, on 25 February 1932 at Salmon, Lemhi Co., ID. Clarence Franklin McDonald died on 26 November 1982 at Salmon, Lemhi Co., ID.

     Pvt. Dallas Patrick McDonald was also known as "Pat". He was born on 27 November 1918. He was the son of Henry McDonald and Laura Louise Faulhaber. Pvt. Dallas Patrick McDonald married Leona J. Thinnes, daughter of Nicholas Thinnes and Elizabeth Mary Wengler. Pvt. Dallas Patrick McDonald began military service on 1 July 1944 WW II service, U.S. Army, Pvt., 17th Infantry, killed in action. He died on 2 May 1945 at Okinawa at age 26

Pvt. Dallas McDonald, 26, was killed May 2 in action on Okinawa, according to the telegram received by his wife, Mrs. Leona McDonald, Overton.

Private McDonald had been in the Marianas campaign previous to the action on Okinawa. He entered the service in July, 1944, and received his training at Camp Wolters, Tex.

He is also survived by a five months old son, whom he never saw, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry McDonald, and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Oelschlager, Omaha, and Mrs. Frank E. Sullivan, Denton.

Pvt. McDonald’s Reburial Monday

ELM CREEK, Neb.-- Funeral services for Pfc. Dallas “Pat” McDonald, who was killed in action on Okinawa, May 2, 1945, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Catholic church here. He was killed at the age of 26. Burial will be at Lexington.

Private McDonald was born at Walton and was graduated from the Walton high school. He was employed at Burbank, Calif. Before entering the service, July 21, 1944.

Surviving are his wife, Leona; son, Larry; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry McDonald of Overton, Neb; brother, Floyd of Overton; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Luther of Overton; Mrs. Elmer Oelschlager of Omaha and Mrs. Frank Sullivan of Denton.

     Dorothy McDonald was born on 15 May 1903. She was the daughter of Howard McDonald and Zeda Wilkin.

     Dorothy Lee McDonald was born on 2 August 1911 at Kansas City, Jackson Co., KS. She married Walter Ansel Easton Ryan, son of John William Rhine and Margaret Weir Bewick, in 1927. Dorothy Lee McDonald died on 22 August 2005 at Citrus Heights, Sacramento Co., CA, at age 94.

     Dudley Shannon McDonald was also known as Dudley Rankin Shannon Dudley's biological father was a his mother first husband, a Shannon, as shown by his listing in the 1900 census. Dudley adopted his step-father's surname after his mother remarried to James W. McDonald.¹ He was born on 29 January 1894 at Colorado Springs, El Paso Co., CO.¹ He was the son of (?) Shannon and Sarah Emily Rankin.¹ Dudley Shannon McDonald married Ruby May Faulhaber, daughter of Charles Henry Faulhaber and Jennie May Martin, on 10 June 1918. Dudley Shannon McDonald died on 3 November 1964 at Sanders Co., MT, at age 70.

     Earl Franklin McDonald was born on 19 January 1912 at Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE. He was the son of George Harry McDonald and Dorothea Helen Faulhaber. Earl Franklin McDonald was christened on 19 May 1912 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Walton, Lancaster Co., NE. He married Ann Enright, daughter of Francis Enright and Margaret C. (?), on 20 June 1934. Earl Franklin McDonald died on 20 October 1968 at Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE, at age 56.
