     Dr. William Adair McDowell was born on 21 March 1795 at Mercer Co., KY. He was the son of Samuel McDowell and Anna Irvine. Occupation: Physician and surgeon. Dr. William Adair McDowell married Maria Hawkins Harvey in 1831. Dr. William Adair McDowell died on 10 December 1853 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at age 58.

     William Alfred McDowell was also known as "Mac". He was born on 13 November 1899 at Solon, Cuyahoga Co., OH. He was the son of Johnson Alfred McDowell and Emma C. Given. William Alfred McDowell married Alice Cecelia Trotter, daughter of Mortimer Angell Trotter and Mary Ann Payne, on 5 June 1926 at Solon, Cuyahoga Co., OH. William Alfred McDowell died on 17 October 1982 at Nashville, Davidson Co., TN, at age 82.

     William F. McDowell was born in April 1899 at Elliott Co. (probably), KY.¹ He was the son of Joseph McDowell and Nancy Jane Holbrook.¹

     Sharon Dee McDuffee was born on 21 November 1939 at Muncie, Delaware Co., IN. She was the daughter of Edwin Cloyd McDuffee and Ruby Eleanor Little. Sharon Dee McDuffee married Roger Keith Smith, son of Charles Russell Smith and Marie Belvia Fisher, on 2 September 1968 at Muncie, Delaware Co., IN, Roger had been married and divorced once prior, Sharon had been married and divorced three times prior. Sharon D. Rowland, 76, a long-time resident of Anna Maria island, FL, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 in Franklin, NC. She was born on Nov. 21, 1939 in Muncie to Edwin and Ruby (Little) McDuffee.

Sharon cared for "Snooty" the Manatee at the South Florida Museum and did volunteer work at the Pelican Man Bird Sanctuary.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Nelson, Erich (Roberta) Rowland, and Jason Rowland; daughter, Amanda (John) Shockley; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Randall and James.

     Margaret Myrtle McDuffey was born on 2 August 1886 at Wayne Co., IN. She married Jesse Wilbert Mier on 2 December 1911 at Anderson, Madison Co., IN. Margaret Myrtle McDuffey died on 16 March 1960 at Matthews, Grant Co., IN, at age 73. She was buried on 18 March 1960 at Matthews IOOF Cemetery, Matthews, Grant Co., IN, Findagrave #110656757.

     Neal Owen McDuffie was born on 22 April 1892 at South Carolina.¹ He began military service on 20 August 1917 WW I service, U.S. Army. He married Ruby Beatrice King circa 1924.¹ Neal Owen McDuffie lived on 2 April 1930 at 715 Main Street, Hattiesburg, Forrest Co., MS, sales manager, automobile dealer.¹ He died on 10 May 1968 at Columbia, Richland Co., SC, at age 76.

Family memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Chappell Cemetery in Petal for Neal O. "Stuffie" McDuffie Jr. of Reno, Nev., who died Jan. 6, 1992, in Reno.

The Rev. Mike Hicks will officiate.

Mr. McDuffie was a native of Gulfport. He was a graduate of Petal High School and played football for Moorehead Junior College. He was employed by Shell Oil Company and was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one daughter, Dana Dru Jones of Waco, Texas; two sons, Kerry McDuffie and Neal O. McDuffie III, both of Alvin, Texas; his mohter, Ruby Morris of Petal; three sisters, Anne O. Mixon of Gulfport, Betty June Clark of Yazoo City and Rosemary Bryant of Shreveport, La; and two brothers, Joe W. Morris of Bossier City, La., and Rex G. Burch of Morgan City, La.

McElhaney Jr. and Edith Pearl Wendell.¹ Dorothy Eleanor McElhaney married Thomas Hamilton Rea, son of David J. Rea and Margaret Hughes, on 1 January 1939 at Guernsey Co., OH. Dorothy Eleanor McElhaney lived on 16 April 1940 at 420 High Street, Morgantown, Monongalia Co., WV.² She lived at 905 Aaron Drive, Lynden, Whatcom Co., WA. She died on 30 November 2006 at age 91 per SSDI, last residence Huntington Beach, Orange Co., CA. A Washington state Death Index record shows the place of death as Whatcom County, WA.

     Edith Melevina McElhaney was born on 30 March 1918 at Fostoria, Seneca Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of John I. McElhaney Jr. and Edith Pearl Wendell.¹ Edith Melevina McElhaney married James Peters, son of Thomas Peters and Jane McOmish, on 30 June 1939 at Guernsey Co., OH. Edith Melevina McElhaney lived on 13 April 1940 at 1289 East 123rd Street, Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., OH.² She died on 21 July 2001 at age 83 SSDI, last residence Seattle.      Gideon Heckman McElhaney was born on 10 March 1891 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL. He married Anna Pearl Myers, daughter of Wiley Alexander Myers and Clementine Lucinda Douthat, on 7 November 1909 at Ellisville, Jones Co., MS. Gideon Heckman McElhaney died on 24 May 1960 at age 69.

     Hugh Alexander McElhaney married Carrie Elizabeth Herrington. Hugh Alexander McElhaney married Christine Carley Thaler. Hugh Alexander McElhaney was born on 11 August 1910 at Sumrall, Forrest Co., MS. He was the son of Gideon Heckman McElhaney and Anna Pearl Myers. Hugh Alexander McElhaney died on 25 March 1992 at age 81.

     James McElhaney was born in April 1858 at Indiana.¹ He married Martha Catherine Gebhart, daughter of Elias Gebhart and Elizabeth Rebecca Gebhart, circa 1884.¹

     John I. McElhaney Jr. was born circa 1889 A John McElhaney, born 11 SEP 1886 at Canton, son of John McElhaney and Anna Orth, is listed in the Ohio Births and Christenings Index. Based on the ages given for censuses 1910 and later, I believe this must have been a child lost in infancy, and the John McElhaney later born to the same parents was a later birth. DLB 2018. He was the son of John R. McElhaney and Anna Orth.¹ John I. McElhaney Jr. married Edith Pearl Wendell, daughter of Ellis Brill Wendell and Zetta Margaret Evans, in July 1914 at Guernsey Co., OH. Occupation: Gatherer, auto lens factory in 1920 at Lancaster, Fairfield Co., OH.²
