He was especially proud to have been chosen in 1935 to be the first company representative stationed in British Columbia, Canada when Standard Oil moved into that country.

Bob was very active in Masonic affairs all his adult life, joining that order in 1924. He belonged to the Scottish Rite Bodies, Ben Ali Temple of the Shrine, the York Rite Bodies and the Order of the Eastern Star. Bob loved to travel, and after he retired, he visited over most of the world. He also acted as tour director and escort for Masonic and SIRS tours in the United States and to Alaska and Hawaii, the South Pacific and Australia. As a result of his many years of work for Standard Oil and his many fraternal activities and his hobbies.
