Fred Pfeffer

Fred L. (Bud) Pfeffer, 71, died Friday in Falmouth, Ky.

Mr. Pfeffer was born in St. Joseph and lived here until 1966 when he moved to Butler, Ky. He worked in the maintenance department of the Moila Golf Course here.

Survivors include two brothers, Harry Pfeffer, St. Joseph, and Vincent Pfeffer, Blue Springs, Mo; two sisters, Charlene Pfeffer, Cleves, Ohio, and June Chambers, Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

The body will arrive late tonight at Stamey-Lindsey Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.

He was buried in February 1982 at Saint Joseph Memorial Park, St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO, Findagrave #123014053.

Mrs. Mary Jane Honts, 90 a resident of Columbus Junction mary years, died about 8 o'clock Thursday morning in the home of her son, Edward Honts here, following an illness of serveral days. She was born Januray 29, 1849 in Pennsylvania a daughter of William and Mary Pfeifer, who came to Iowa the next year. She was married to Henry Honts, who died many years ago.
surviving are two sons, Edward of Winfield, and Harry of Columbus City; Two brothers , ten grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
The body was taken to Columbus Junction and funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Richie Funeral Home. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery.
Mrs. Honts was a member of the Free Methodist Church,
Anna Jane Pfeifer was born to Williams and Lavina Pfeifer, January 29, 1849 in Pennsylvania. She came to Iowa with her parents when she was a child and settled near Iowa City. Later they moved to a farm near Wapello, where she was united in marriage to Henry Honts. To this union three sons were born, Edward of Winfield, Harry of Columbus City and armour, who died in infancy.
They made thir home in Columbus City and vicinity for several years, then moved to Winfield where she lived until failing health made it necessary to make her home with her sons. Her husband preceded her in death, February 7, 1890
Last Monday she became ill whith pneumonia and death came at eight o'clock Thursday morning.
Besides the sons surviving are two broathers, Charles Pfeifer, of Burlington, Iowa and Dan Pfeifer of Moran Kansas: ten gradchildren and sereral grandchildren.
Anna is buried next to her Husband Henry Honts but sadly there is no marker.
She was known to her family as "Little Grandma."

She was buried in December 1939 at Columbus City Cemetery, Columbus City, Louisa Co., IA, Find A Grave Memorial# 82853403.
