     Occupation: Farmer and horseman, Wilmore, Jessamine Co., KY. Campbell L. Patterson was born on 12 February 1872 at Kentucky. He was the son of Joseph Mercer Patterson and Hannah Ann Wilmore.

JOSEPH M. PATTERSON was born August 7, 1826, and is the third son of John and Nancy (Campbell) Patterson, natives of Virginia and Jessamine County respectively. At the age of five years John Patterson came to Jessamine County from Virginia, with his father, William Patterson, who was a native of Scotland. John Patterson was a private in the war of 1812, was born December 3, 1786, and died April 11, 1870. He was engaged in farming and trading with New Orleans, going with produce by boat to New Orleans and walking back eight times. He once rode from New Orleans to Natchez on the old "Vissouvioux" the first boat ever floated on the Mississippi River. He was ten days going the distance of 300 miles. He could have walked it in less time. He has now living three children: Eliza, married to Rev. Crutcher, of Jessamine County; Joseph M. and Samuel. Joseph M. Patterson was born in Jessamine County, reared on the farm, and received a liberal education. In 1851-53 he was superintendent of the manufacture of rope-bagging and twine for George I. Brown. With this exception he has been engaged in farming, trading, raising and dealing in horses. He owns 250 acres of land in Lee District. December 11, 1851, he married Hannah A., daughter of Jacob Wilmore, who was also born in Jessamine County. To this union have been born ten children: William S., Mary J., Joseph M. Jr., Jacob, Robert G., John, Campbell and James, living, and two children dead, John and an infant. Mrs. Nancy Patterson was born February 19, 1791, and died October 17, 1863.
Notes for HANNAH ANN WILMORE: Second cousin to Joseph Mercer Patterson. Campbell L. Patterson married Julia Tenney Guerrant, daughter of Dr. Edward Owings Guerrant M.D., D.D. and Mary Jane DeVault, in 1902. Campbell L. Patterson died on 7 August 1954 at Clark Co., KY, at age 82.

DOLORIS R. EAGON
CAMBRIDGE -- Doloris R. Eagon, 62, of 13434 Bohemian Road, Lower City, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 1990 at Guernsey Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Eagon was retired after working 23 years at March Electric Company. She was a member of the Kipling United Methodist Church and past vice president of the Union Lodge 02088 of March Electric Company and a graduate of Byesville High school.

Born Aug. 25, 1927 in Cambridge, she was a daughter of Charles C. and Oressa M. Landman Patterson.

Surviving are her husband, Doyle F. Eagon; one daughter, Cinda S. Eagon of Columbus; one son, Curtis D. Eagon of New Concord; four sisters, Mrs. Allen Standiford, Esther Schairer and Mrs. William Morris, all of Cambridge, and Mrs. Paul Morgan of Canton; two brothers, Charles R. and Everett D. Patterson, both of Cambridge, and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Bundy-Law Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Gerald Carl officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Pleasant City.

She was buried in March 1990 at Mount Zion Cemetery, Mount Zion, Noble Co., OH, Findagrave #190407159.

hird wife of Michael Swigart, Jr. (1827-1897). They were married on January 17, 1867 in Greene County, Ohio and had one son together - Oscar Swigart (1867-1969). Hannah was married previously to Pvt. Jonathan L. Rike (1834-1863) who was wounded and died during his service in Co. F, 100th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War at the age of 29. Jonathan and Hannah were married on December 27, 1859 in Greene County, Ohio and had one son together, Harry W. Rike. Hannah was the daughter of William Patterson and Elizabeth (McKnight) Patterson.

Obituary from the Xenia Daily Gazette and Torchlight, Wednesday, September 11, 1889, Xenia, Greene County, Ohio:

Mrs. Hannah Swigart, of near Bellbrook, died last evening at 8 o'clock after 3 weeks illness of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Swigart was one of a large family of children, most of whom are dead. Mrs. Joseph Frye, of this city, being a surviving sister. (S. Josephine Patterson) Her maiden name was Patterson, and when a little child, she came with her parents to this county, where she has since resided. At the age of 18 she was married on December 27, 1859 to Jonathan Rike, who a few years afterward sacrificed his life in our Civil War, leaving her 1 son, now Dr. J. H. (Harry) Rike, of California. In January, 1867, she was united in marriage to Mr. Michael Swigart, an influential farmer, who still survives her, and by whom she had 1 son, Oscar Swigart, who resides at home.

Mrs. Swigart was a beautiful woman in face, character, and a valued member of the Reformed Church, always living the humble Christian life she professed. As a wife and mother she was affectionate and loving, as a neighbor always kind and always ready to lend a helping hand. She will be sadly missed by many friends, but all have the consolation of knowing that she is at rest in the home of her father. The funeral services will take place tomorrow, Thursday at 1 o'clock at the Mt. Zion Church, being conducted by her pastor, Rev. Steele, assisted by Rev. Yockey, of this city.

She was buried in September 1889 at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery, Beavercreek Twp., Greene Co., OH, Findagrave #26174898.
