Mrs. Lucy N. Williams Breathes Her Last After Years of Sickness -- The Mother of Mrs. Walter Hobart.

SAN RAFAEL, January 21. -- After a painful illness covering a period of more than seventeen years Mrs. Lucy Neil Williams, wife of Captain W. W. Williams, U.S.N., and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Neil of this city, died at the residence of her parents on Sixth street at half-past 7 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Williams had been at the point of death for many months, and when the end came this morning it was not unexpected.

Mrs. Williams was born in Columbus, O., fifty years ago. Her maiden name was Lucy Neil. She was married to Lieut. Williams, now Pay-Director in the United States Navy with the rank of Captain, in 1869. Ten years later she came to California on account of failing health with her parents and family, and took up residence in San Rafael. Mrs. Williams soon became a helpless invalid.

Mrs. Williams leaves a son and two daughters: Wilberforce Williams, Miss Juliette Williams and Mrs. Walter Hobart. Her husband, Captain W. W. Williams, is now stationed at New London, Conn. The funeral announcement has not yet been made, but it is expected that the interment will take place at Columbus, O., where Neil Williams, a son, was buried two years ago.

She was buried in January 1897 at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin Co., OH, Findagrave #73963286.

Albert William Nelson was also known as Albert Allen Albert's biological father was an Allen, as per the 1900 census listing. Albert appears to have known that his father was born in Indiana, as indicated in later censuses.1 He was born on 7 July 1890 at Preston, Pratt Co., KS, WW I draft registration.1 He was the son of Margaret Waters.1 Albert William Nelson married Veva J. Dupee, daughter of Edward Dupee and Lucy (?), on 26 July 1916 at Kingman, Kingman Co., KS,

Marriage Announcement -- The Turon Weekly Press, Turon, Kansas, Thursday, 3 AUG 1916, p.1 (Newspapers.com):

Dupee-Nelson

Miss Veva Dupee of Cunningham, Kans. and Albert Nelson were married last Wednesday at Kingman. The bride wore a soft white silk dress with embroidered net and the groom wore a fancy stripe blue serge. At the home of the bride's parents a 5 o'clock supper was prepared.

The young couple received many valuable presents.

Albert William Nelson lived on 6 February 1920 at Verdigris Twp., Rogers Co., OK, farming.2 He lived on 14 April 1930 at Turon, Reno Co., KS, section hand, railroad.3 He died on 6 October 1967 at age 77. He was buried in October 1967 at Klamath Memorial Park, Klamath Falls, Klamath Co., OR, Findagrave #31297744.
Note: Apparently there were two Albert Allens born in July, 1890, in Kansas. Albert, son of Charles and Frances (Carey) Allen, born 2 JUL 1890 at Madison, Allen County, Kansas was clearly a different individual than the son of Maggie Waters listed with her in the 1900 census. Maggie's son was named Albert Nelson in his half-sister Clara (McGuire) Tatro's obituary. DLB 2020.
