Nelson died on 7 February 1976 at Xenia, Greene Co., OH, at age 96. She was buried in February 1976 at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, Greene Co., OH.

     Ethel D. Nelson was born on 8 September 1905 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL. She was the daughter of Peter August Nelson and Ethel J. Kitzmiller. Ethel D. Nelson lived on 2 May 1910 at 3524 McDill Avenue, Chicago, Cook Co., IL.¹ She married Clarence Edward Stahl, son of John George Stahl and Mary Catherine Ricke, circa 1924. Ethel D. Nelson lived on 20 April 1940 at 3342 Central Avenue, Chicago, Cook Co., IL.² She married Stanley J. Wachowski Wallers on 19 September 1953 at Cook Co., IL. Ethel D.      Etta Lena Nelson was born in January 1884 at Pottawatomie Co. (probably), KS.^1,2 She was the daughter of James C. Nelson and Mary J. Applegate.¹ Etta Lena Nelson married Walter Miller Price, son of William Baker Price and Mary A. Lemon, circa 1906 at Pottawatomie Co. (probably), KS.² Etta Lena Nelson died in 1950. She was buried in 1950 at Louisville Cemetery, Louisville, Pottawatomie Co., KS.

     Florence Nelson married Carl Askerbloom.

     George Lionel Nelson was born on 12 January 1880 at Crisfield, Somerset Co., MD.¹ He married Malinda J. Hoffman circa 1900.¹ George Lionel Nelson lived on 3 May 1910 at Asbury District, Somerset Co., MD, sailor, oystering & crabbing.¹ He died on 29 June 1943 at Baltimore, MD, at age 63

George L. Nelson Died In Baltimore After Long Illness

After a lingering illness of many months, George L. Nelson died at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Tuesday of this week, at the age of 63.

For the past 25 years Mr. Nelson had made his home in Baltimore at 2405 Edmondson Ave., and up to the time of his illness had been engaged in the restaurant business.

His body was brought to Crisfield by the Lawson & Hubbard ambulance on Tuesday, and services will be held in the Lawson & Hubbard Funeral Home on Main street this morning, Friday, at 11:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.T. Rowlenson, pastor of Asbury Methodist Church.

Members of the Men's Bible Class of the church will act as pall bearers, and interment will be in the family plot in Asbury cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Hoffman Nelson, and three children, Margaret Rutledge and Lionel H. Nelson, of Baltimore, and James R. Nelson, now in the U.S. Army, stationed at Nashville, Tenn.

One sister, Mrs. Emma Hoffman, of Painter, Va., and three brothers, Wm. R. Nelson, of Baltimore, and Arthur Nelson, of Crisfield, also survive.

     Hannah D. Nelson was born in November 1842 at Virginia.^1,2 She was the daughter of John Richard Nelson and Hannah Anderson. Hannah D. Nelson married Adam Windle, son of Adam Windle and Susan Anderson.

     Helen Nelson was born in 1917 at Reno Co. (probably), KS.¹ She was the daughter of Albert William Nelson and Veva J. Dupee.¹

     Helen Marie Nelson was born on 12 February 1924 at Canton, Stark Co., OH. She was the daughter of Henry Martin Nelson and Bessie May Barnett. Helen Marie Nelson married Forest Vane McVicker, son of Frank McVicker and Chlora Bell Sickles, on 7 May 1942, three daughters. Helen Marie Nelson died on 3 September 2008 at Canton, Stark Co., OH, at age 84. She was buried in September 2008 at Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton, Stark Co., OH, Findagrave #84585326.

     Henry Martin Nelson was born on 23 August 1880 at England, or at sea. He married Bessie May Barnett in 1902. Henry Martin Nelson died on 23 April 1942 at Canton, Stark Co., OH, at age 61. He was buried in April 1942 at Rowland Cemetery, Canton, Stark Co., OH, Findagrave #40197691.

     Howard Nelson married Ocean Wavelene Starr, daughter of Nathan Starr and Rosa Myrtle Wolf, on 14 May 1921.

     James C. Nelson was born circa 1851 at Pennsylvania 1880 U.S. census shows age 28, 1885 Kansas census shows age 35.¹ He married Mary J. Applegate. James C. Nelson died on 15 May 1894.

     Jemima Nelson died at Anderson Co., KY. She was born in 1770 at Elk Run, Fauquier Co., VA. She married Charles Utterbach, son of Johann Heinrich Otterbach and Agnes Brumbach, on 7 September 1789.

     Jiimmie Geneva Nelson was born on 24 April 1919 at Tye, Taylor Co., TX. She was the daughter of John Trimm Nelson and Willie Beatrice Hartman. Jiimmie Geneva Nelson married Loy David Stump, son of Edward Oscar Stump and Jesse Elizabeth Denham, on 22 January 1938 at Harris Co., TX. Jiimmie Geneva Nelson married Raymond Goodwin after 1940. Jiimmie Geneva Nelson died on 5 January 1996 at Harris Co., TX, at age 76. She was buried in January 1996 at South Memorial Park Cemetery, Houston, Harris Co., TX.

     John D. Nelson was born circa 1890 at West Virginia.¹ He married Bertha Mae Pettry on 15 November 1915 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV.

     John Richard Nelson married Hannah Anderson, daughter of Peter Anderson and Hannah Boacht.

     John Trimm Nelson was born on 23 May 1890 at Tuscaloosa Co., AL, WW I draft registration. He married Willie Beatrice Hartman on 18 January 1912. John Trimm Nelson died on 5 November 1937 at Harris Co., TX, at age 47. He was buried in November 1937 at Brookside Memorial Park, Houston, Harris Co., TX, Findagrave #80357703.

     Joseph C. Nelson was born on 17 November 1893 at Columbus, Platte Co., NE. He married Georgia Evaline Sanson on 6 August 1917 at Marysville, Nodaway Co., MO. Joseph C. Nelson died on 12 September 1947 at Columbus, Platte Co., NE, at age 53. He was buried in September 1947 at Columbus Cemetery, Columbus, Platte Co., NE, Findagrave #13820369.

     Lillie H. Nelson was born in April 1884.¹ She was the daughter of Charles S. Nelson and Elizabeth Hagey Walton.¹

     Lois Wilma Nelson was born on 27 September 1922 at Washington Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of William H. Nelson and Elsie Mae Huston.¹ Lois Wilma Nelson married Robert Johnson, son of Ralph P. Johnson and Edith Motsinger, on 29 May 1942 at Indiana, Robert later remarried, first to Beatrice Pauline Deacon (1919 - 1992) and second in 2001 to Loretta Jean Williams (1923 -- 2019). Lois Wilma Nelson died on 17 October 1999 at age 77. She was buried in October 1999 at Franklin Cemetery, Salem, Washington Co., IN, Findagrave #45122449.

     Margaret Vesta Nelson was born on 10 November 1904 at Maryland.¹ She was the daughter of George Lionel Nelson and Malinda J. Hoffman.² Margaret Vesta Nelson married Wade Franklin Rutledge, son of Joseph A. Rutledge and Effie M. Franklin, circa 1929 at Baltimore (probably), MD.¹ Margaret Vesta Nelson died on 23 February 1989 at Baltimore (probably), MD, at age 84.

     Mary Nelson was born circa 1853 at Indiana or Kentucky 1860 shows IN, 1870 shows KY.¹ She was the daughter of Augustine O. Nelson and Hannah Catherine Dryden.¹

     Mary J. Nelson was born in 1862. She married John Alexander Colvin, son of Robert Columbus Colvin and Mary Jane Coil, in 1885 at Mercer Co., OH. Mary J. Nelson died in 1920.

     Nellie M. Nelson was born on 13 November 1893 at North Liberty, St. Joseph Co., IN.¹ She married James R. Stickley on 27 April 1910 at La Porte Co., IN. Nellie M. Nelson died on 13 October 1977 at Plymouth, Marshall Co., IN, at age 83. She was buried in October 1977 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, St. Joseph Co., IN, Findagrave #32074010.

     Noalma Myrtle Nelson was born on 24 November 1905 at Davenport, Scott Co., IA. She married Wilbert William Spengler. Noalma Myrtle Nelson died on 4 July 2001 at Davenport, Scott Co., IA, at age 95. She was buried in July 2001 at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport, Scott Co., IA, Findagrave #91971199.

     Dr. Oscar E. Nelson was born circa 1877 at Minnesota Probably January, 1877. An Oscar F. Nelson with that birth date is listed in the 1900 census of Nicollet County, St. Peter. He married Helen Moore Stover, daughter of William Burbridge Stover and Eva Adeline Adams, on 25 June 1918.¹ Dr. Oscar E. Nelson lived in 1926 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN.¹ He was Presbyterian.¹

     Oscar H. Nelson was also known as "Ole". He was born in 1890 at Sweden.¹ He married Dora E. Boston on 1 January 1914 at Boone, Boone Co., IA. Oscar H. Nelson died in 1970. He was buried in 1970 at Junction Township Cemetery, Grand Junction, Greene Co., IA, Findagrave #97994524.

     Peter August Nelson was born circa 1875 at Sweden. He married Ethel J. Kitzmiller, daughter of Samuel Thomas Kitzmiller and Margaret Adeline Greenwood, on 4 March 1905 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL. Peter August Nelson died on 7 July 1921 at Chicago, Cook Co., IL.

"It turns out that there were a number of Peter Nelsons born in Sweden about the same year as our Peter August Nelson and living in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Several of them were, in fact, Peter August Nelsons. Searching Ancestry.com for records for our Peter August Nelson returns records for many other Peter Nelsons.

Here is what we know. Our Peter August Nelson was born in Sweden about 1875. In the 1910 Census he is listed as August Nelson. He is living with wife Ethel, daughter Ethel, his wife's sister, Daisy Burke and Daisy's daughter, Irene Burke. In the 1920 Census he is shown as widowed and living with his daughter, Ethel D. Nelson. In both of these census records, our Peter August Nelson lists his occupation as a baker.

I have been able to eliminate several of these Peter Nelsons. I mention them here because information for some of them shows up in Ancestry trees as belonging to our Peter August Nelson.

The first is a Peter August Nelson born 10 Feb 1875. He married Anna Unknown before 1918 and installed elevators for a living. This Peter August Nelson died in early October 1949 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery.

The second is a Peter A. Nelson that married Ida Mathilda "Tillie" Holmquist in 1902.

The third is a Peter A. Nelson, born in 1874 in Sweden and had a daughter, Ethel (1905 - 1953) who married Victor Edward Karlsen.

The fourth is a Peter August Nelson born 22 Nov 1885 in Sweden. In 1918 he worked for Chicago Rapid Transit."
