Alvina Elizabeth Katherine (Schneider) Vontz, 94, Beatrice died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Beatrice Community Hospital. She was born May 29, 1917 at Plymouth, NE. Alvina grew up in the Plymouth area, married Ray Larimore on Nov. 3, 1939, in Plymouth. She moved to Beatrice at the age of 18 while her first husband was in the Army. He died Nov. 16, 1944. She married Stanley Vontz on June 19, 1948, in Beatrice.

Alvina worked at Beatrice State Developmental Center for 16 years. She was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Plymouth and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice. She also was a member of the Doll Lover's Club for 21 years, and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, going to garage sales and dolls.

Survivors Include her husband, Stanley of Beatrice; children, Dennis Larimore and wife Mary of St. Augustine, Fla., Yvonne Shaw of Palmer Lake, Colo., Sherry Fletcher of Lincoln, Randy Vontz and partner Jesus Ramirez of Kansas City, MO, and Ricky Vontz and Marcia Vontz of Beatrice; grandchildren, Denise Spear husband Brad of Brunswick, GA, Robert Larimore and wife Nikki of Colombia, Mo., Jesse Shaw and wife Alex of Denver, Colo., Shelena McGuire and husband Darrel of Beatrice, Darrick Fletcher and wife Amanda of Beatrice, Jeremy Vontz of Beatrice, and Nicholas Vontz of Beatrice; 6 great –grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lillie Schneider of Treynor, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents William and Maggie (Hicken) Schneider; first husband Ray Larimore; sisters, Alma Nies and Erna Saville; brothers, George Schneider, Wilferd Schneider, and Herbert Schneider.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice with Pastor William Jurgens officiating. There will be a family prayer service in the church chapel at 1:15 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the mortuary in charge. The body will lie in state at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Monday, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday night, then one hour preceding services at the church.

She was buried in June 2011 at Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, Gage Co., NE, Findagrave #72422439.

Mrs. Maggie M. Forney, wife of William B. Forney, died at her home, 514 Baltimore Street, at 1:30 A.M. today following an illness since last March. She was aged 64 years and was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Bowers) Scheivert. The deceased was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Baltimore Street. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Miss Louise M. Forney, at home: one son, Beecher W. Forney, Elizabethtown; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Miller, Mrs. William Blettner, Mrs. Austin Storm and Mrs. Joseph Hertz, all of Hanover, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held from the late home friday morning at 8:30 o'clock followed by a high mass of requiem in St. Joseph's Church at 9 A.M. The Rev Edward J. O'Flynn, pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home Thursday evening between 7 and 9 o'clock.
