KINGSPORT – Mrs. Florence B. DeVault, Mill Creek community, Rt. 10, died Tuesday afternoon at her residence following a brief illness.
Mrs. DeVault was a native of Washington County, but had lived in Kingsport since her marriage.
She was a former elementary school teacher in Johnson City.
Mrs. DeVault was a communicant of St. Paul Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton DeVault, in 1978.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Betty Tate, Kingsport; one son, David W. DeVault, Kingsport; two sisters, Rose Baum and Mrs. Ann Chamberlin, both of Johnson City; two grandchildren.
     Hamlett-Dobson is in charge.

Thomas Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home’s downtown chapel. The mayor flew to Nashville Wednesday and was expected to return Thursday night.
