DEATH CLAIMS SAMUEL NIXON

Samuel Nixon, retired Jefferson county farmer, passed away about 7:35 p.m. last night at a hospital in Mt. Pleasant. He had been in failing health the past several years and seriously ill for several weeks.

The body is at the Hoskins funeral home where last rites are pending.

Samuel Nixon was born August 23, 1885, in Bonaparte, the son of the late Alonzo and Alice Klise Nixon. He had been a farmer all his life, and had worked for several farmers in Jefferson county before his health caused him to retire.

In recent years, since his retirement, Nixon had lived at the Bonn hotel until he became seriously ill.

He is survived by one sister, Nettie Nixon, who resides at Stockport, and six brothers: Ferd and Bert, Boise, Idaho; Orlie who lives at Keosauqua; Rex of Bonaparte and Lloyd and Verrn of Fairfield.

He was buried in January 1950 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Jefferson Co., IA, Findagrave #128257659, no headstone.

     Sarah Ann Nixon was born on 23 January 1837 at Monday Creek Twp., Perry Co., OH. She was the daughter of John Nixon and Rebecca (?)¹ Sarah Ann Nixon married Benjamin Nutter, son of John T. Nutter and Christina Sweazy, on 25 February 1858 at Perry Co., OH. Sarah Ann Nixon died on 15 October 1910 at Jackson Twp., Perry Co., OH, at age 73.

     Susannah Nixon was born on 18 September 1751 at Yadkin River Valley, Rowan (now Davie) Co., NC. She married Jonathan Boone, son of Israel Boone and Martha (?), in 1773 at Rowan Co., NC. Susannah Nixon died in 1832 at Burke Co., NC. She was buried at Kincaid Cemetery, Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC.

     Elmer Ellsworth Noakes was born on 17 May 1903 at Jasper Twp., Preble Co., OH. He was the son of Lee Ora Noakes and Anna Mary Swartz. Elmer Ellsworth Noakes married Emily Josephine Provost on 7 November 1925 at Elk Point, Union Co., SD.

     Harold Noakes was born on 8 July 1905 at Preble Co., OH. He was the son of Lee Ora Noakes and Anna Mary Swartz. Harold Noakes died on 10 August 1906 at Preble Co., OH, at age 1.
