Mr. Strickler was born and raised on a farm near Chambersburg, Pa., taught in the public schools of Franklin and Cumberland Counties, Pa., and Carroll County, Illinois, a number of years. Was in the drug business in Sterling, Illinois, ten years; in the treasurer's department of the Frick Company at Waynesboro, Pa., for twenty-five years.

Two children, viz: Daughter, Helen Miles. He was born on 22 November 1851 at Guilford Twp., Franklin Co., PA.1 He was the son of Jacob Strickler and Anna Stouffer.
