THREE CHURCHES -- Clarence Taylor Pownell, 69, of near here, died yesterday at Newton D. Baker VA Center at Martinsburg, where he had been a patient for a year.
A veteran of World War I, he was a son of the late John Albert and Alice P. (Lewis) Pownell and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena (Mulledy) Pownell, four children. Elmo Pownell, Moorefield; Mrs. Viva Cather, Winchester, Va; Mrs. Dolene Snyder, Cumberland; and Mrs. Ella Mae Fry, at home, and a sister, Mrs. George Mulledy, Romney.
The body is at the McKee funeral home in Augusta and will be taken to the residence today at 5 p.m. Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Martin, pastor of the Christian Church, Romney, officiating. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery at Three Churches.

Cause of death: on 14 March 1959 coronary thrombosis. He was buried in March 1959 at Three Churches, Hampshire Co., WV.

Edith J. "Edie" Poynter Wilkins, 67, Indianapolis, died Thursday in Methodist Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, with calling from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Mausoleum. Survivors -- husband R.      Cena Lillis Prather was born on 4 February 1866 at Wellsville, Franklin Co., KS.¹ She married Robert S. Pearson on 25 December 1888.¹

     Charles DeVault Prather was born on 5 March 1887 at Mt. Airy, Surry Co., NC. He was the son of Joseph Wesley Prather and Julia Frances DeVault. Mrs. Lena Chinowth Dies Thursday At Hospital Here

Mrs. Lena Chinowth of 962 East College avenue died Thursday at 12:40 p.m. at Our Savior's hospital following an illness of several months.

Mrs. Chinowth, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Ferguson Prather, was born in Greenfield on Sept. 27, 1888. Her marriage to Harry Chinowth took place in this city in 1934.

Surviving are her husband and her mother, one sister, Miss Elsie Prather of Greenfield, a brother, Ora Prather of Elsah, Ill., two step-sons, Willard Chinowth of Centralia and Winfield Chinowth of Miami, Fla., and two grandchildren.

One sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Chinowth was a member of Central Christian church and of Rebekah lodge, No. 13.

The body is at the Williamson Funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home here and from there the body will be taken to Greenfield where services will be held at Shields Funeral home at 3 p.m. The Rev. Roy S. Hulan will officiate at both services. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

She was buried in November 1947 at Oakwood Cemetery, Greenfield, Greene Co., IL, Findagrave #44148417.

     Lilla Bean Prather was born on 6 November 1883 at Mt. Airy, Surry Co., NC. She was the daughter of Joseph Wesley Prather and Julia Frances DeVault. Lilla Bean Prather married Cleveland David Jarvis, son of Leander A. Jarvis and Delphia Isabell Dacons, on 13 February 1912 at Mt. Airy, Surry Co., NC, It appears this marriage ended in separation or divorce before 1930, in which census Lilla is found living with the younger children in her sister's home in Washington, DC. Lilla Bean Prather lived in April 1930 at 3179 Eighteenth Street, Washington, District of Columbia, with sister Nellie Gale's family.¹ She died on 14 January 1946 at Washington, District of Columbia, at age 62.
