Samuel Stoner was the son of Jacob and Magdalena Stoner.
The Stoner family lived in Anne Arundel County and later moved to Frederick County, Maryland. He later migrated to the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia with other relatives. Two of his sisters married sons of Elder John H. Garber of Flat Rock, Shenandoah County : Rebecca, who married Martin Garber, and Marian "Molly", who married Samuel Garber.
Samuel Stoner married Hannah Albaugh of Timberville, VA. In 1814, he built and operated a mill several miles northwest of present day Timberville off Route 881 on what is known today as Andrick Mill Road. As of 2006, the original mill is still standing. The Stoner house, which is located across the road from the mill, is fallen down in ruins.

Hannah Stoner,wife, and Joel Stoner,son, are also interred here. The exact relationship of Samuel Stoner to the others in this cemetery is not known.2

He was buried in February 1839 at Stoner Family Cemetery, Timberville, Rockingham Co., VA, Find A Grave Memorial# 19606650.

Cripe, daughter of Stephen Cripe and Elizabeth Wissinger, on 27 August 1893 at Miami Co., IN, Seven children born, all living as of the 1910 census.2 Elder Solomon Stoner was Church of the Brethren. Pendleton - Solomon Stoner, 80, retired minister of the German Baptist Church, died at 5 a.m. today at the home of his son, Ora Stoner of near here. The body was brought to the Cornell Bright Funeral Home, where friends will be received this evening., Friday morning it will be taken to the home of Mrs. Jennie Miller, four miles west of here, where friends will be received. At 2 p.m. Saturday funeral rites will be conducted at the German Baptist Church, and burial will be in the Grove Lawn Cemetery here. The family has requested no flowers.
Surviving are eight children; David Stoner, Anderson; Ezra Stone, Valparalso; Ora Stoner at home; Mrs Jennie Miller and Mrs. Mary Hopkins, near Pendleton; Mrs. Martha Benedict, Waynesboro, Pa., and Mrs. Dora Miller, Dayton, Ohio; 44 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Disch, Bunker Hill; and four brothers; Joseph Stoner, Noah Stoner and Jesse Stoner all of Pendleton community and Amos Stoner, New Castle.
Born on Aug.7, 1873, in Preble County, Ohio. Mr. Stoner came to this community in 1919 and became pastor of the German Baptist Church, a rural church north west of Pendleton.

Note: Son of John Barley & Marillis (FLora) Stoner, married Emma Cripe on 27 Aug. 1893 in Miami Co., Indiana.

He was buried in September 1953 at Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton, Madison Co., IN, Find A Grave Memorial# 94763967.
