Note: Did not marry.1 Joseph Price was born on 25 November 1829 at Quincy Twp., Franklin Co., PA.1 He was the son of Jacob Baker Price and Susannah Emmert. Joseph Price died on 13 October 1894 at Waynesboro, Franklin Co., PA, at age 64 He was born on the old homestead, 2 miles north of Waynesboro, and remained with his parents until he was 18 years old. His education was acquired in a country school and at Lititz, Pa., where he attended school one year, 1849-50. From January, 1851, to April, 1853, he was engaged in the drug business in Boonsboro, Md., but in the latter year he removed to Waynesboro, where he became actively engaged in the dry goods business, alone until 1864, from then he had a partner (the firm being Price & Hoeflick), 1879 when he sold out to D. M. Good. After the establishment of the Frick Mfg. Co. in 1873, he was a stockholder and director in that concern. In 1873 he was elected president of the First National Bank. Was also treasurer of the Baltimore and Cumberland Valley Railroad and contributed both time and money toward getting the railroad to Waynesboro. Was a member of the Presbyterian Church and elected an Elder in 1873; was also superintendent of the Sunday school.1

Price died on 15 October 1918 at age 28 Mr. Price, after graduating from the public schools of Lower Salford, attended Perkomen Seminary and West Chester State Normal School. Since then he has been a most highly esteemed teacher of this county, having recently been appointed an enrolling secretary of the County Institute at Norristown. He led a noble Christian life and at the time of his early death was superintendent of the Lederach Sunday School, where he will be greatly missed. He was appointed Justice of the Peace of the township in which he resided (L. Salford) and was also a member of the Board of Road Supervisors as well as their secretary. Both positions he filled very creditably. Mont. Transcript, Oct. 31, 1918. Ch. of the Brethren. No children.1

Mr. Joseph Benjamin Price, Jr., 97, of Frederick, died on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the College View Center. Joe married his loving wife Caroline Elizabeth Schultz Price on December 19, 1941, and they shared over 72 wonderful years together.
He was born in Frederick on November 27, 1916, the son of the late Joseph Benjamin Price, Sr., and Nellye Cook Price.
Joe graduated from Frederick High School in 1933 and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps. He was retired from the Federal Government, having worked at Fort Detrick and the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
Joe was an avid sports fan, having played recreational and semipro baseball for the Frederick Hustlers. He refereed football and basketball and umpired baseball. He was inducted into the YMCA's Alvin G. Quinn Sports Hall of Fame in 1986.
He was a life-long member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a member of St. Mary's Chapter. He was also a life member of Francis Scott Key American Legion Post # 11, and held the Degree of Chevalier in the Order of DeMolay.
Joe and Caroline loved to travel to Europe, Mexico and through most of the United States.
Joe is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter, Carole Lynne Price, of Frederick, and her partner, Alain Letort, of Washington, D.C..
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at All Saints Episcopal Church, Frederick. The Rev. W. Earl Mullins, will officiate. The private interment will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

H., 15th Regt. Pa. Vols., prom. to 2nd Lt. Co. I, 70th Regt., 6th Penna. Cavalry, Jan. 1, 1865; prom. to 1st. Lt. Co. F, same Regt., March 22, 1865; disc. June 20, 1865. After the war settled in Doniphan Co., Kans.1 He married Hannah Jackson, daughter of Caleb Sharpless Jackson and Mary Ann Gause, on 29 November 1864 at Chester Co., PA.2 Joseph Detweiler Price died on 29 July 1872 at Doniphan Co., KS, at age 33 crushed to death by an unmanageable bull.

As a husband, he was pure, tender, affectionate. To all, a Christian gentleman."1
