DEATH OF H. B. PRICE

Fredonia Business Man Passed Away Suddenly Tuesday.

Harry Bertram Price, aged 72 years, 9 months and 21 days, passed away at his home, 227 North Eighth street, Fredonia Tuesday, January 20, 1942, at 5:45 p. m. His death was unexpected, although he had been in ill health for a number of years.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 at the Wilson Funeral home, and interment was in Fredonia cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Ed. A. Reinhardt, pastor of the First Christian church.

Mr. Price was born March 29, 1869, in Chicago, Ill., to David and Ellen Riddlebarger Price. He came to Fredonia with his family about 33 years ago from O'Dell, Nebr., and had since been engaged in the insurance and real estate business.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Isa Smethurst Price; three daughters, Mrs. L. H. Cheadle of Earp, Calif., Mrs. J. H. Gillespie of Anthony, and Miss Claire Price of the home; one son, James B. Price of this city; a sister, Mrs. Gertie Deardorff of Vinton, Iowa; and two granddaughters, Pat Price of this city and Sue Ann Cheadle of Earp, Calif.

He was buried in January 1942 at Fredonia City Cemetery, Fredonia, Wilson Co., KS, Findagrave #15580102.

     Harry Brecht Price was born on 8 May 1868.¹ He was the son of Dr. Samuel Harley Price and Elizabeth Brecht.¹ Harry Brecht Price married Bertha M. Starr, daughter of Moses Starr and Catharine Bobb, on 4 January 1899.¹

PAMPA, March 27-- Harry Leroy Price, 69, manager of a Skellytown lumber company before he moved to Pampa in 1955, died at 7:30 PM Tuesday in Highland General Hospital here.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Thursday in Duenkel-Carmichael Chapel. The Rev. Ronald Hubbard, Presbyterian pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Chickasha, Okla., cemetery.

Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Emma, of Pampa; a daughter, Mrs. Sam C Dunn of Amarillo; a son Richard Price of Pampa; his mother, Mrs. Lester Price of Chickasha, Okla; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Harry was a rural mail carrier at the time he met Emma Nunn. They met at the mail box. He later decided to live on a farm near Tabler, Oklahoma about 7 miles from Chickasha. When he was married he bought furniture for their first home and surprised his wife. Harry and Emma worked hard on the farm. She was an immaculate housekeeper and an excellent cook. They had 2 children, Geraldine and Richard. Geraldine's grandparents Minnie and Lester Price were crazy about her and kept her in town at their home most of the time. He was always buying her new shoes. Emma was very unhappy on the farm as she wanted her children to have the best education possible and it had to be a town school instead of a country school near their farm. Geraldine stayed with her grandparents and went to school but when Richard was old enough to attend school, Emma went to her parents home in Davenport, Oklahoma, so Richard could attend school there. Harry soon followed her and a short time later he was offered a postion as manager of a lumber yard in 1926 at Pampa later to White Deer, Texas. They moved there, but Geraldine stayed with her grandparents and attended school in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

He was buried in 1957 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Grady Co., OK, Findagrave #47179184.

     Harry Leroy Price was born on 13 June 1895 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA.¹ He was the son of Abraham A. Price and Anna C. Greasing. Harry Leroy Price married Matilda K. Hetrick on 10 February 1917.¹

     Harry O. Price was born on 1 January 1881 at Carroll Co., IL.¹ He was the son of John T. Price and Ellen B. Emmert. Harry O. Price married Regina (?). Harry O. Price lived in 1926 at Freeport, Stephenson Co., IL.¹

     Harry Russell Price was born on 13 October 1897.¹ He was the son of William W. Price and Carrie G. Johnson. Harry Russell Price married Rhea Lapp, daughter of George Lapp, on 6 March 1920, Ceremony by Rev. E. G. Knight.¹
