     Horace Blinn Ramey was born on 18 January 1882 at Liberty Twp., Knox Co., OH.² He was the son of Emmett M. Ramey and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins. Horace Blinn Ramey married Daisy Ethel Webster on 28 November 1917 at Knox Co., OH. Horace Blinn Ramey lived on 9 April 1930 at Centerburg, Knox Co., OH, Postmaster.² He died on 8 December 1961 at Mt. Vernon, Knox Co., OH, at age 79

H. B. RAMEY

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in a funeral home in Mount Vernon, for H. Blinn Ramey, 79, former postmaster at Centerburg, who died Friday in Mount Vernon.

He was a former resident of Mount Vernon, and the past year had lived in the home of his son, Emmett Ramey, in Worthington. He was a member of the Masonic Orders of Mount Vernon and Scioto Consistory, Scottish Rite of Columbus.

Surviving are three sons; Emmett, Worthington, H. Paul of Hyattsville, Md., and Thomas A. Ramey of Two Rivers, Wis; also eight grandchildren, one sister, and two brothers: Mrs. A. L. Van Horn and H. Carle Ramey of Washington, D.C., and Ralph Ramey of Laurel, Md. Burial in Bloomfield Cemetery.

     Horace Paul Ramey was born on 24 March 1921 at Centerburg, Knox Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Horace Blinn Ramey and Daisy Ethel Webster. Horace Paul Ramey began military service on 27 March 1939 WW II service, U.S. Navy, discharged 27 OCT 1967. He married Betty Diana Burger on 9 July 1944 at Washington, D.C.. Horace Paul Ramey died on 26 July 2010 at Lanham, Prince George's Co., MD, at age 89

Mr. Horace Paul Ramey, 89, of Lanham, MD, died at Doctor's Hospital.

Paul enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and attended the Naval School of Music. He was in the Naval Academy Band for 28 years and was serving in Pearl Harbor on the Argonne at the time of the attack.

He worked at Southern Railroad for 14 years and continued his musical career with the Sexton German Band.

After retirement, he volunteered at Doctor's Hospital and Project Head Start, using his humor and puppet skills to bring smiles to many patients and children.

He was a member of the Greenbelt Community Band and Toastmasters.

A Memorial service with military honors will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Arrangements by Beall Funeral Home, Bowie, MD.

He was buried in 2010 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Prince George's Co., MD, Findagrave #56844679.

     Isaac Ramey was born circa 1814. He was the son of John Ramey and Rebecca Baker.

     John Ramey married Rebecca Baker, daughter of Philip Peter Baker and Elizabetha Dorothea Voelkner, circa 1805.

     Julia Ann Ramey was born on 30 October 1814 at Shenandoah Co. (probably), VA.² She was the daughter of Benjamin Ramey and Hannah Painter. Julia Ann Ramey married Jacob Hottel, son of John W. Hottel and Elizabeth Swartz, on 22 May 1834 at Shenandoah Co., VA.¹ Julia Ann Ramey died on 9 August 1888 at age 73.¹ She was buried in August 1888 at near Buckton, Warren Co., VA.¹

     Phillip Peter Ramey was the son of John Ramey and Rebecca Baker.

     Ralph Bernard Ramey was born on 2 February 1884 at Mt. Liberty, Knox Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Emmett M. Ramey and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins. Ralph Bernard Ramey married Olive Love Rinehart on 28 October 1908 at Knox Co., OH. Ralph Bernard Ramey lived on 4 April 1930 at Centerburg, Knox Co., OH, assistant cashier at savings bank.² He died on 10 April 1964 at age 80. He was buried in April 1964 at Union Cemetery, Burtonsville, Montgomery Co., MD, Findagrave #169614953.

     Thomas Alcott Ramey was born on 3 June 1923 at Centerburg, Knox Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Horace Blinn Ramey and Daisy Ethel Webster. Thomas Alcott Ramey married Pearl Mueller on 26 June 1943. Thomas Alcott Ramey died on 5 April 2003 at Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI, at age 79. He was buried in April 2003 at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, Outagamie Co., WI, Findagrave #186855008.

     Florela M. Ramsay was also known as "Flo". She was born on 8 March 1928 at Silver Hill, Wetzel Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of Ernie J. Ramsay and Bertie Mae Postlewaite.¹ Florela M. Ramsay married King George Wendell, son of James Franklin Wendell and Sarah Elizabeth King, on 2 April 1947 at Columbiana Co., OH. Florela M. Ramsay died on 13 December 2016 at Youngstown, Mahoning Co., OH, at age 88.

     Anna Mary Ramsey was born on 23 February 1872 at Israel Twp., Preble Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Rutherford Ramsey and Mary Ann Wilson.¹ Anna Mary Ramsey married John Clark Barkley in 1893. Anna Mary Ramsey died in January 1947 at Winter Park, Orange Co., FL, at age 74. She was buried in 1947 at College Corner Cemetery, West College Corner, Union Co., IN, Findagrave #36290638.

Charles Casto Ramsey passed away on December 20, 2008, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Mr. Ramsey was the son of the late Hilman Ramsey and Flora Stowers Ramsey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the aircraft carrier, USS Antietam during World War II. He gained his naval air wings on the USS Antietam and was a Golden Gloves boxer. He graduated from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, and received his masters degree from the University of West Virginia in Morgantown, WV. He was a member of the Sinking Springs Presbyterian Church and
the Abingdon American Legion #0012.
Mr. Ramsey was a successful football coach at Dundee High School, Dundee, IL, Tazewell High School, Tazewell, VA, Abingdon High School, Abingdon, VA, and East High School in Sullivan County, TN. He coached football and taught at the University of Houston, Houston, TX; Emory and Henry
College, Emory, VA, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rebecca Jane Ramsey; his wife of 64 years, Jane DeVault Ramsey; his sisters-in-law, Fain DeVault, Irma DeVault, and Mary DeVault Butcher; and his brothers-in-law, Edward DeVault, Nolan Butcher, and Bud Zeig.
Charles Casto Ramsey is survived by one son, Charles Hilman 'Skip' Ramsey, Damascus, VA; one daughter, Mary Fain Ramsey and her husband Lewis Purifoy, Charlottesville,
VA; one sister, Ruby Zeig, Galion, OH; two nieces, Karla Cline and Martha Butcher Crowe; five nephews, Steve Zeig, Randy Zeig, James Butcher, Ed DeVault, and Russell DeVault; two grandchildren, Anna Ramsey Purifoy and Layla Anne Smith; and three great grandchildren, Isabella Smith, Solana, and Nyellie Valles.
A graveside service for Mr. Ramsey will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 1 p.m., at the Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Charles Casto Ramsey Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 950, C/O Emory & Henry College, Emory, VA. The time and date of a memorial service will be announced at a later date. He was buried in December 2008 at Glenwood Cemetery, Bristol, Sullivan Co., TN.

     Geneva Ramsey was born on 1 December 1901 at Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto Co., TX. She was the daughter of George Franklin Ramsey and Della York. Geneva Ramsey married George Kelly Barnes, son of George Frederick Barnes and Elizabeth Kelly, in 1919, after she was abandoned by George Barnes, Geneva remarried to Francis (Frank) X. Trimbach (1890 - 1947) about 1927. They may have divorced after the April 1940 census. Frank died in 1947 and Geneva later remarried to Frank Williams. Geneva Ramsey was cremated in 1997 at Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby Co., TN, ashes buried next ther her parents' grave. Findagrave #128192463. She died on 24 August 1997 at Perris, Riverside Co., CA, at age 95.

     George Franklin Ramsey was born on 11 August 1877 at Arkansas. He married Della York. George Franklin Ramsey died on 22 October 1920 at age 43. He was buried in October 1920 at Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby Co., TN, Findagrave #122508809.

     Helen Lea Ramsey was born on 15 May 1916. She was the daughter of Carlton Leroy Ramsey and Bertha Ethyl Powell.

     John Raymond Ramsey was born on 13 January 1908. He was the son of Carlton Leroy Ramsey and Bertha Ethyl Powell. John Raymond Ramsey died on 22 October 1989 at Kansas City, Clay Co., MO, at age 81.

     Margaret Letitia Ramsey was born on 22 April 1914 at Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH; daughter of William E. and Estella Marie (Rumpf) Ramsey. She married Calvin Clinton Cost, son of Anson A. Cost and Ellen Mary Meyer, before April 1940. Margaret Letitia Ramsey died on 9 November 2003 at San Bernardino Co., CA, at age 89 per SSDI, last residence San Bernardino.

     Martha Agnes Ramsey was born on 11 July 1826 at Preble Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Ramsey and Sabina Gilmore.¹ Martha Agnes Ramsey died on 21 May 1900 at West College Corner, Union Co., IN, at age 73.
