     Mary Range was born circa 1775. She was the daughter of John Range and Madeline Shollas.

     Mary Catherine Range was born on 15 February 1843 at Greene Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of Allen Range and Agnes Crouch. Mary Catherine Range married Russell B. Bowsher, son of Jesse Bowsher and Elizabeth Clayton, on 21 December 1860 at Macoupin Co., IL, Eight children born, five living as of the 1900 census.¹ Mary Catherine Range lived on 8 June 1880 at Shaws Point Twp., Macoupin Co., IL, farming.² She died on 10 February 1930 at Bowie, Cochise Co., AZ, at age 86. She was buried in February 1930 at Range Cemetery, Macoupin Co., IL, Findagrave #100910880. Death certificate says she died in Cochise County, Arizona but the body was returned to Palmyra for burial. No stone found.

     Peter Range was born on 26 March 1749 at Somerset Co., NJ. He was the son of Noah Ranger and Elizabeth Coons. Peter Range was christened on 17 May 1749 at Raritan, Somerset Co., NJ. He married Elizabeth Ronimus circa 1776 at Berkeley Co., VA (now WV). Peter Range died on 10 October 1817 at Near present Johnson City, Washington Co., TN, at age 68.

     Peter Range married Matilda Hale. Peter Range was born in 1793 at Knob Creek, Washington Co., TN. He was the son of Peter Range and Elizabeth Ronimus. Peter Range died in 1859.

     Peter Range was born on 1 October 1821 at Washington Co., TN. He was the son of John Range and Elizabeth Ronimus. Peter Range married Martha Rose Crouch, daughter of Joseph Crouch Jr. and Elizabeth Keefhaver, on 20 April 1851 at Washington Co., TN. Peter Range died on 4 July 1862 at Macoupin Co., IL, at age 40.

     Rachel Range died at Savannah, Chatham Co., GA. She was born in 1799 at Knob Creek, Washington Co., TN. She was the daughter of Peter Range and Elizabeth Ronimus.

     Sarah Range was born in 1797 at Knob Creek, Washington Co., TN. She was the daughter of Peter Range and Elizabeth Ronimus. Sarah Range married John Worley on 3 November 1819 at Washington Co., TN.

     Sarah Range was born on 17 April 1811 at Washington Co., TN. She was the daughter of John Range and Abigail Garner. Sarah Range married Daniel Profitt on 9 February 1836 at Washington Co., TN. Sarah Range died on 25 May 1883 at Macoupin Co., IL, at age 72. She was buried in May 1883 at Range Cemetery, Palmyra, Macoupin Co., IL.

     Shollas Range was born circa 1768. He was the son of John Range and Madeline Shollas.

     Susanna Range was born circa 1779. She was the daughter of John Range and Madeline Shollas.

     Susannah Range was born on 16 February 1779 at Knob Creek, Washington Co., TN. She was the daughter of Peter Range and Elizabeth Ronimus. Susannah Range married Valentine DeWald, son of Henrich DeWald and Maria Catherine Greaver, on 16 February 1804 at the home of the bride's parents, Knob Creek, Washington Co., TN. Cause of death: on 12 August 1842 Typhoid Fever. Susannah Range died on 12 August 1842 at DeVault's Ford, Washington Co., TN, at age 63. She was buried in August 1842 at DeVault's Ford, Washington Co., TN.

     William Range was born on 13 December 1919. He married Virginia K. LeFevre, daughter of Joseph Clyde LeFevre and Mabel V. Young, on 21 June 1941.

     Ella Ranger was born on 21 January 1886 at Alpena Co., MI.¹ She married Archibald Duncan Wiseman on 10 December 1902 at Alpena, Alpena Co., MI. Ella Ranger died on 23 August 1941 at Highland Park, Wayne Co., MI, at age 55.

     L. G. Ranger was born at Vermont. He married Mary (?).

     Mary Ranger was born in January 1894 at Ohio.¹ She was the daughter of Stanley M. Ranger and Elliza A. Sprau.¹

Quarterly vol 6 & 7), attended Old Dutch Reformed Church in Raritan Somerset Co., NJ as all children are baptized there, abt 1765 with Bogart family moved westward to York (later Adams) Co. PA. Settled near New Oxford PA, aft 1771 to Berkeley Co VA, exempted from paying county levy because of age 20 July 1779 (Court Order Book #3 p 431, Berkeley Co. Court, Martinsburg WV). Noah Ranger was born on 1 October 1713. He married Elizabeth Coons, daughter of Nicholas Coons and Catherine (?), in 1740 at Somerset Co., NJ. Noah Ranger died circa 1799.

     Stanley M. Ranger was born in December 1870 at Ohio.¹ He was the son of L. G. Ranger and Mary (?) Stanley M. Ranger married Elliza A. Sprau, daughter of Adam Sprau and Caroline Burgderfer, circa 1893.¹

     Valerie Ranger was born in May 1900 at Crawford Twp., Wyandot Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Stanley M. Ranger and Elliza A. Sprau.¹

     Emma Rank was born circa 1849 at Pennsylvania.¹ She married Reuben Brumfield Edwards, son of Harmon Edwards and Missouri Gilmore, on 13 September 1868 at Carroll Co., IL.

     Ada Jane Rankin was also known as "Addie". She was born on 5 September 1853 at near Greeneville, Greene Co., TN. She was the daughter of Col. Robert L. S. Rankin and Louisa DaVault. Ada Jane Rankin married William Kenneth Martin, son of Henry A. Martin and Matilda (?), circa 1879. Ada Jane Rankin married Nathan Hood Franklin, son of Benjamin Franklin and Lucinda Rankin, on 7 February 1906.

     Ada L. Rankin was born on 31 March 1890 at Greene Co., TN. She was the daughter of David Bruce Rankin and Mary Matilda Lyon. Ada L. Rankin died on 8 July 1891 at Greene Co., TN, at age 1. She was buried in July 1891 at Old Oakland Cemetery, Greene Co., TN.

     Alta Rosa Rankin was born on 26 August 1898 at Greene Co., TN.¹ She was the daughter of David Bruce Rankin and Mary Matilda Lyon. Alta Rosa Rankin married Jeter C. Burleson, son of William Burleson and Hester Ledford, circa 1925. Alta Rosa Rankin died on 3 August 1972 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC, at age 73 OBITUARY - (TN); August 5, 1972:

MRS. ALTA R. BURLESON
BAKERSVILLE, N. C. -- Mrs. Alta R. Burleson, 73, a former resident of Bakersville, died in a Charlotte hospital Thursday evening following a short illness.
Mrs. Burleson was the daughter of the late David and Alice L. Rankin and was a member of the Bakersville Baptist Church. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State College, Johnson City, Tenn., and had taught in the Bowman Elementary School for 30 years prior to her retirement.
She was a member of the Bakersville chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeter C. Burleson, who died in 1960.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce, Charlotte, and William, Washington, D.C; one brother, Willie Rankin, Jonesboro, Tenn., and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alta R. Burleson, 73, a former resident of Bakersville who died in Charlotte, N.C., Thursday evening following a brief illness, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday from the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home. Rev. N. H. Brittain, Rev. Elton Strickland and Rev. Robert Seatz will officiate with interment to follow in Bakersville Memorial Cemetery. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home, Bakersville is in charge of the arrangements.

She was buried in August 1972 at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery, Bakersville, Mitchell Co., NC.

     Annabelle Virginia Rankin was born on 27 March 1853 at Ohio.¹ She married Hamilton Peter Kepler.¹ Annabelle Virginia Rankin died on 31 December 1930 at Center Point, Linn Co., IA, at age 77. She was buried in January 1931 at Abbe Creek Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Linn Co., IA, Findagrave #39402000.

     Beatrice V. Rankin was born on 16 June 1879 at Ottway, Greene Co., TN. She was the daughter of Dr. James Jerome Rankin M.D. and Mary Virginia Doyle. Beatrice V. Rankin died on 7 October 1951 at Greeneville, Greene Co., TN, at age 72. She was buried in October 1951 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Greeneville, Greene Co., TN.
Note: did not marry.

     Occupation: Clerked in his father's store until he was 21; then farmed on an extensive scale. In 1875 he was one of the organizers of the Home Wollen Company.
Note: Nephew of his wife's first husband Robert Rankin.

In 1890 he sold the David Rankin homeplace (which he became owner of when he married Louise (DeVault) Rankin) to Sarah R. Hendrix from Carter County. Until that sale, the property had remained in the Rankin name through the years. In 1892, Sarah R. Hendrix sold the property to J. W. Sweney. In 1982 the property was owned by Mrs. Margaret Hankins Bowman, a descendent of the Sweny family. Charles Gray Rankin was born on 5 March 1837 at Rheatown, Greene Co., TN. He was the son of John Rankin and Louisa A. Gray.¹ Charles Gray Rankin married Louisa DaVault, daughter of Frederick DaVault and Margaret Range, on 17 December 1857 at Washington Co., TN. Charles Gray Rankin died on 10 July 1911 at age 74. He was buried in July 1911 at Mt. Bethel Presbyterian Church, near Limestone, Washington Co., Greene Co., TN.

     Charles Miller Rankin was born circa 1901 at Greene Co., TN.¹ He was the son of Charles Robert Rankin and Mary Cordelia Correll. Charles Miller Rankin married Martha Helen Anderson, daughter of Richard F. Anderson and Helen M. (?), circa 1924.

     Charles Robert Rankin was born in November 1866 at Greene Co., TN, 1900 census shows 1865, however 1870 shows age 3, and 1880 shows age 13, so it must have been 1866.^2,3 He was the son of Charles Gray Rankin and Louisa DaVault. Charles Robert Rankin married Mary Cordelia Correll, daughter of Peter M. Correll and Elizabeth S. Jeffries, circa 1896.³ Charles Robert Rankin died in 1929 at Unaka Springs, Unicoi Co., TN. He was buried in 1929 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Greeneville, Greene Co., TN.

     Claire Rankin was born in May 1926 at Greene or Washington Co., TN.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Miller Rankin and Martha Helen Anderson.¹

     Cordella Rankin was born in December 1877 at Ohio.¹ She married Charles Urban Armstrong, son of Abel Armstrong and Emily Creamer, circa 1899 at Fayette Co., OH.

     David Rankin was born on 1 November 1775 at Virginia. He married Jane Bell Dinwiddie circa 1801. David Rankin died on 17 July 1836 at Greene Co., TN, at age 60.
