THETFORD – Jane Raymond Rodgers, 90, died yesterday at the Alice Peck Day Extended Care Facility.
She was born in Middletown, Ohio, on Nov. 18, 1894, the daughter of Jay and Martha (Hess) Raymond.
She graduated from Wellesley College in 1916 and received her bachelors degree in art education in 1941 from the University of Cincinnati.
She was a member of the Glendale Presbyterian Church, the Glendale Monday Class, the Music Lovers, and the Keyboard Club of Cincinnati.
She and her late husband, Paul C. Rodgers, moved to Thetford in 1960, having maintained a residence there since 1945.
Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the First Congregational Church of Thetford and was active in music and art circles. She and her husband were instrumental in bringing ambulance service and the Visiting Nurse Association to Thetford.
She leaves a daughter, Patricia Jane Rodgers of Cincinnati, a son, Professor Paul C. Rodgers, Jr., of Springfield, Ohio; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Evergreen Cemetery in Thetford Center.
The Rand Funeral Home of Hanover is in charge of arrangements.
