     Sarah Ellen Rickett was born in November 1867 at Marion Co. (probably), IA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas Wilson Rickett and Dianna Belle Roush.¹ Sarah Ellen Rickett married Hugh Sylvester Owens, son of Joseph Kensey Owens and Sarah Elizabeth Ramsey.²
Note: The 1900 census, Carroll County, Missouri, shows Sarah Owens, daughter of Thomas and Dianna Rickett, married six years, mother of two children living, and immediately below her name and listed as the grandchildren of the head of household are George Owens, age 11, and Sarah Owens, age 9. The husband of Sarah (Rickett) Owens is not listed. The 1910 census for the same place shows Sarah Owens, age 43, wife of "Huey" Owens, age 38, married 20 years, mother of three children, all living. The listed children are daughter Prudy P., age 18, sons Thomas B., age 15, and Joseph S., age two. Next door to the Hugh Owens household is George M. Rickett, age 21, born Missouri, his wife Mellie age 24, and their son John G., age six months. Some online censuses show a George Morgan Rickett as a child of Thomas and Dianna (Roush) Rickett, born 1878 or 1879. Note that Dianna would have been 45 in 1879. Was Prudy P. of 1910 the same individual as Sarah shown in 1900? So many questions! DLB 2015.^2,3

Thomas Wilson Rickett married Dianna Belle Roush, daughter of John Roush and Elizabeth Baker, on 19 October 1865 at Marion Co., IA, 7 children born, 6 living as of 1900 census.¹ Occupation: farm laborer in July 1870 at Duncan Twp., Sullivan Co., MO.² Occupation: laborer on 23 June 1880 at Farmington Twp., Van Buren Co., IA.³ Thomas Wilson Rickett died on 7 March 1919 at Hale, Carroll Co., MO, at age 78.

RIDDLE – David L., Jr., 65, of Plantation, FL passed away Friday, October 10, 1997. He came to Ft. Lauderdale with his family in 1947 from Omaha, NE. Mr. Riddle graduated from Ft. Lauderdale High School and attended the University of Florida and the University of the South, Sewanee, TN. He served as an Army Officer in Korea. Mr. Riddle was in the Title Insurance business in Broward County for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Ann R; and will be sadly missed by his four children, Kimberly Riddle-Smith (Stephen B.) of Tallahassee, FL, David L. Riddle III, Randolph R. Riddle and Kristen R. May all of Ft. Lauderdale; grandson, Michael L. May. He is also survived by his brother, Richard W. Riddle of Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 PM October 13, 1997 at FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, 299 N. Federal Highway, 954-763-4488.
