Albert Leroy Roush
M, b. 20 May 1875, d. 27 April 1895
Albert Leroy Roush was also known as "Roy". He was born on 20 May 1875 at Highland Co., OH. He was the son of Philip Roush and Margaret Pegan. Albert Leroy Roush married Minna Beard on 16 December 1893. Albert Leroy Roush died on 27 April 1895 at Highland Co., OH, at age 19 Newspaper article, Hillsboro News-Herald, 2 MAY 1895:
On last Saturday morning between 7 and 8 o'clock, Roy Roush left his home to go to Dave Saum's on business. He took his gun, intending to hunt as he went: While getting across a fence, his gun was accidentally discharged, killing him, as is supposed, instantly. His people, thinking he was at Mr. Saum's, did not start to look for him until about 2:30 P. M. As his brother was going to cross a fence he caught sight of Roy's hat. Terrible must have been his feelings, when he found his brother in such a condition. His clothing and flesh were burned terribly. He could not be taken into the church on Sunday.
He was the Son of Philip and Margaret Roush. Born May 20, 1875; died at his home in Fairview, April 27, 1895. He was married to Mima Beard, on the 16th day of December, 1893. To them was born one child, a son, little Georgie. Roy had been a member of the Christian Church for a number of years, and was an earnest worker, both in Sunday school and Christian Endeavor. He was sexton in the church, and on last Wednesday evening, rang the bell for the Christian Endeavor. When it rang again it was to strike off the twenty years of his life.
Appropriate funeral services were held at the Fairview church, in charge of Rev. Erenfight. His remains were then laid to rest in the Strange cemetery.
Dearest one you now have left us,
Gone to dwell in heaven above;
There to be among the angels,
There to know thy Father's love.
Darling, husband, oh I miss you,
Oft I long for thy dear face,
But I know you're with our Father,
That you now have won the race.
It is so hard to part, my love,
But I know you'll weep no more,
That you're safe among the angels,
Soon, I'll meet you on that shore.
Oh, how sweet will be the greeting,
When we meet no more to roam,
Little Georgie and I are coming,
To meet you in your heavenly home. He was buried in April 1895 at Strange Cemetery, New Market Twp., Highland Co., OH, Find A Grave Memorial# 127433643.
