Olive C. Snyder, 92, formerly of Littlestown died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2005 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover.
Born Dec. 23, 1913 in Spencer, Md., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Joseph and Marie Auriza (St. Germain) Beford. She was married to the late Paul R. Snyder, who died in 1976.
Mrs. Snyder graduated from Hanover High School and was employed at various shoe factories in Littlestown.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown, the PCCW, and Littlestown Senior Center.
Surviving is one daughter, Loraine Glass of Littlestown; four sons, George Snyder of Bradford Woods, Albert Snyder of Hummelstown, Larry Snyder of Douglassville, and Fred Snyder of Titusville, N.J; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Paul L. Snyder; two brothers, Urban Beford and Donald Beford; two sisters, Gabrielle Jones and Irene Redding; and one granddaughter.
Those wishing to attend the funeral should meet at Little’s Funeral Home in Littlestown 10:30 a.m., Tuesday for a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with the Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday at Little’s Funeral Home with a wake service at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

EAST PEORIA - Jeffrey S. Behrens, 35, of East Peoria died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007.

He was born Feb. 15, 1972, in Peoria to Steve and Linda (Bourscheidt) Behrens.

Jeff is survived by his parents of East Peoria; two daughters, Madison Lynn Behrens and Maisey Lei Behrens, both at home; fiancee, Bobbette Ramage of East Peoria; one brother, Jason (Amy) Behrens of East Peoria; grandmother, Marcine Behrens of Peoria; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeff was a journeyman sprinkler fitter employed out of Local 669 with F.J. Murphy Sprinkler Fitters, last working Aug. 30, 2007, on the construction of the Embassy Suites in East Peoria.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Steven was born to Robert and Oleata Marcine Hayes Behrens. He married Linda Bourscheidt on Aug. 28, 1971, in Peoria.

She survives, along with his mother; son, Jason (Amy) Behrens; daughter-in-law, Bobbett Ramage; seven grandchildren, Maisey, Madison, Chase, Conner, Narissa, Nathan and Nicholas; and six brothers and sisters, Barb Craig, Janet (Chris) Myers, Bob (Rita) Behrens, Michael (Kathi) Behrens, Ann (Rick) Rodecker and Laura Sprout. He is also survived by his two beloved German Shepherds, Maggie and Jaybee.

He was preceded in death by his father; son, Jeffrey Behrens; and brother-in-law, Robert Craig.

Steven served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a real estate broker.

Evelyn Beich

The body of Evelyn Artz, widow of Webb C. Artz, a native of Wellington and the last member of the family of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Artz of the community, was placed in the Artz-Demory Mausoleum in Greenwood Cemetery last Wednesday under the direction of the Norton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Artz died Sunday, Feb. 8 in her New York City apartment following a lengthy illness. Her survivors include two sisters and several nieces and nephews, all residents of New York and California.

Her husband, a journalist, worked on several large newspapers, became associated with the Scripps-Howard chain of papers, and later was one of the organizers of the United Press radio service, serving as its editor. He died in July, 1941, in Indianapolis at the age of 52. His father was the second publisher of this newspaper, editing it from 1966-1976.

Upon her husband's death and burial here, Evelyn returned to New York, her home city, where she operated an employment agency for executives until her retirement some 15 years ago. She never was a resident of Wellington but was a frequent visitor of her in-laws who resided in the North Main Street residence that became the home of the American Legion following World War II.

She was buried in February 1981 at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington, Lorain Co., OH, Findagrave #66032249.
