NOTI--A memorial service will be held Sept. 8 for Julia Ann Shankle of Noti, who died Sept. 3 of cancer. She was 39.

Shankle was born Oct. 13, 1961, in Eugene, to Ron and Lillian Davis Shankle. She married Rick Trudell in Eugene on Jan. 27, 1999.

She graduated from Elmira High School and worked at the Noti Market. She lived in Bend from February 2000 to August 2001.

Her interests included reading, drawing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband; her parents of Noti; two daughters, Angelica Trudell and Maggie Shankle, both of Noti; three brothers, Shawn of Walton, and Mike and Pat, both of Noti; and a sister, Ronda Shankle, also of Noti. A brother, Gene, died previously.

Saturday's service will be at 1 p.m. at the Noti Church of Christ. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service, Eugene, in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Hospice Care or the American Cancer Society.

Minnie May Shankle Terbovitz was born September 16, 1899, in Carroll County, Missouri to Isaac and Ella Roush Shankle. She passed away September 5, 1963 at a Havre hospital.
With her parents, Minnie came to Montana in 1913 from their home in Penacolsa, Kansas. They homesteaded north of Chinook in the Cherry Ridge area.
She was married to Michael Terbovitz December 29, 1917 at Chinook and the couple lived out their lives in the Lohman community. They had two sons, Earl and Harold, who both reside at Lohman.
Surviving in addition to her sons are three brothers; Rev.Lewis Shankle, Roswell, New Mexico; Abraham Shankle, Westville, Oklahoma; Earl Shankle, Noti,Oregon and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Donely, Noblesville, Indiana. There are also three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who mourn the passing of a loved family member.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mike Terbovitz were conducted Monday,September 9, 1963 at two O'clock from the Kuper Funeral Home in Chinook, Rev. Leon Johnson pastor of the Methodist Church officiated at the services.

His date of first enlistment was his 20th birthday in 1939 so it apparently was an error in the enlistment documentation. DLB 2017.1 He was the son of Abraham Friday Shankle and Fiina Fillmanson.1 Rollin E. Shankle began military service on 16 October 1939 Enlisted, USMC.2 He lived on 4 April 1940 at U.S. Marine Corps Base, San Diego, San Diego Co., CA.2 He lived in 1972 at San Diego, San Diego Co., CA. He lived in 1988 at San Diego, San Diego Co., CA. He died on 3 July 2005.

NOTI - A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at 21654 Vaughn Road in Veneta for Ronald E. "Ron" Shankle of Noti. He died Sept. 17 of renal failure at age 79.

He was born July 25, 1928, in Wichita, Kan., to Earl and Grace Wallace Shankle. He married Lillian Davis in Eugene.

He graduated from Elmira High School and served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948. He worked as an independent log trucker.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Mike and Pat, both of Noti, and Shawn of Walton; a daughter, Ronda Shankle of Noti; a brother, Dick of Salem; a sister, Dorothy Ritter of Eugene; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two children, Julie Shankle and Gene Shankle, died previously.

Burial will be in Sailor Cemetery in Noti. Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to Senior Connections in Veneta.
