     Merle Shea was born on 5 December 1910 at Tama Co. (probably), IA. He was the son of Alfred Daniel Shea and Mary Keagan.

     Albert Sheaffer married Ruth E. Jackson, daughter of Isaac Jackson and Ida M. Lieberknecht, on 12 September 1920. Albert Sheaffer died on 20 June 1932.

     Robert Sheaffer was born on 18 June 1921. He was the son of Albert Sheaffer and Ruth E. Jackson.

     Alice Shearer was born on 6 June 1860 at Bunker Hill, Ingham Co., MI. She married Philemon Stiles. Alice Shearer died on 13 September 1942 at Leslie, Ingham Co., MI, at age 82. She was buried in September 1942 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Leslie, Ingham Co., MI, Find A Grave Memorial# 91162826.

     Donald Lee Shearer was born on 10 October 1933 at Oshkosh, Garden Co., NE. He was the son of Waldo Emerson Shearer and Lola Leona Law. Donald Lee Shearer married Carol Cross in 1972 at Grant, Perkins Co., NE. Donald Lee Shearer died on 25 November 1986 at Gothenburg, Dawson Co., NE, at age 53.      Gladys N. Shearer was born in February 1893 at Huntington Co. (probably), IN.^2,1 She was the daughter of John Shearer.¹ Gladys N. Shearer married Riley Earl Jackson, son of Jacob Jackson and Nancy Rinearson, circa 1913, no children.¹

     John Shearer was born circa 1870 at Indiana.¹ He lived in June 1900 at Huntington, Huntington Co., IN.² He died after January 1920.
Note: This John Shearer is somewhat difficult to document. The key is the 1900 census, in which his divorced 27-year old niece Cora B. Vincent was living in his household with her son. She was first married to William Call in 1890, and from that record her maiden name is seen to have been Shearer. Corabell Shearer is found in the 1880 census as the daughter of Taylor and Susan Shearer. Back to 1870, there was only one Taylor Shearer in the region, being the son of Samson and Sarah Shearer of Washington Twp., Whitley County. So this establishes the parents of John Shearer, who was also listed as a 2-year old in the 1870 census. It appears he lost his parents early, and may not have been clear on his birth year.

An Allen County, Indiana marriage record exists for a John Shearer marriage to Rosa Emerick on 11 NOV 1893. It seem unlikely, albeit possible, that Rosa Emerick would have been the mother of Gladys Shearer (unless Gladys' birth year was actually 1894, contrary to the census), although the father could have been the same John Shearer. DLB 2013.

     Lelia Gordon Shearer was also known as "Lee". She was born on 11 August 1939 at Mobile, Mobile Co., AL; daughter of Walter Cooke and Leiia McDonald (Gordon) Shearer. She died on 10 September 2016 at age 77

She received her BA degree from Vanderbilt University and a Masters of Education with a specialty in Learning Disabilities from the University of North Florida. After teaching learning disability resource rooms in Florida and Ohio, she served as the Learning Disabilities Coordinator at North Carolina State University. She later served as a counselor at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC.

     Waldo Emerson Shearer was born on 31 January 1904 at Gilbert, Story Co., IA. He married Lola Leona Law, daughter of William Leander Law and Mamie Alice Sprague, on 30 July 1926 at Oshkosh, Garden Co., NE. Waldo Emerson Shearer died on 31 August 1953 at Oshkosh, Garden Co., NE, at age 49.

     Dorothy Lee Shears was also known as "Doris". She was born on 4 February 1926 at Salem, Columbiana Co., OH. She was the daughter of William John Shears and Nora Belle Lesch. Dorothy Lee Shears married Forrest Clayton Peppel, son of David Sylvester Peppel and Lela Mae Bartholow, on 17 September 1947 at Columbiana Co., OH, two children born to this marriage. Dorothy Lee Shears died on 16 January 2011 at Salem, Columbiana Co., OH, at age 84

ALLIANCE - Dorothy Lee (Shears) Peppel, 84, formerly of Beloit, died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday at McCrea Manor in Alliance.

She was born on February 4, 1926, in Salem to William and Nora (Lesch) Shears.

She was employed by Lyle Printing and the Farm and Dairy for many years.

She is survived by her two sons, Steven F. of Salem and Daniel E. of Daytona, Florida, and one grand child.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Peppel on February 14, 1994.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home with Chaplain Ross Jackson of Salem Community Hospital officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.

     Isaac Sheater was born in January 1848 at Ohio.¹ He married Laura Jane Tritt circa 1870, Five children born, four living as of 1900 census.¹ Isaac Sheater died in 1922.
