Edgar Albert Shetter was also known as "Bert". He was born in September 1870 at Guilford Twp., Franklin Co., PA.1,2 He was the son of Simon C. Shetter and Susan Elizabeth Smith.1 Edgar Albert Shetter married Mattie N. (?) circa 1892, No childen born as of 1910 census.2 Occupation: Shoemaker in June 1900 at DeKalb Twp., DeKalb Co., IL.2 Edgar Albert Shetter lived in June 1900 at DeKalb Twp., DeKalb Co., IL.2 He married Ollie B. (?) in 1919 at DeKalb Co. (probably), IL.3 Occupation: Jeweler in 1920 at DeKalb, DeKalb Co., IL.3 Edgar Albert Shetter died on 16 December 1928 at De Kalb, DeKalb Co., IL, at age 58

.A. Shetter, aged 59, Prominent DeKalb jeweler, died in the hospital at DeKalb last night 30 minutes after the automobile crash on the Lincoln highway east of DeKalb in which he was injured. Shetter was en route to Chicago in a yellow taxicab driven by William Adee. The driver of the taxi turned out to pass a truck, but seeing a machine approaching from the opposite direction, Adee endeavored to swing back behind the truck. The taxicab was crushed between the truck and the other automobile. John Gentry of Amboy was the driver of the truck. Dr. R.G. Culver was to hold a inquest in DeKalb. this afternoon on the return of Gentry from Chicago. Four years ago, a machine driven by Shetter struck and killed a man named William Jay of Moline near Rochelle. Jay have stopped on the side of the pavement to change a tire and was struck by Shetter's car. Shetter pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon and was sentenced six months in jail and fined 1,000 dollars.
Mr. Shetter survived by his widow and step-daughter. Mr. Shetter was quite well known in Belvidere and came here occasionally to play golf at Belmar Country Club.
Edger Shetter married his first wife, Mary (Mettie) Jackson in 1892 and ended in divorce. Mary (Mettie) Shetter remarried to Louis Krueger and lived in California.
