     Sarah Jane Shoaf was born on 1 January 1909 at Madison Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of George Fisher Shoaf and Laura Belle Miller.¹ Sarah Jane Shoaf married Edgar Grant Smith, son of Ellsworth Lorenzo Smith and Bertha Mae Rumer.

     Maye Louella Shoap was born on 1 August 1894. She married Walter Atlee Shank. Maye Louella Shoap died on 9 March 1968 at age 73. She was buried in March 1968 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, Cumberland Co., PA, Findagrave #51249345.

     Allene Luella Shoars was born on 2 April 1918 at Osage, Mitchell Co., IA. She married Jack Wesley Wineberg, son of Irvin Earl Wineberg and Clara Belle Triem, on 20 January 1956 at Las Vegas, Clark Co., NV. Allene Luella Shoars died on 29 December 1992 at Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN, at age 74.

     Catherine Shobe was born on 29 August 1807 at Ross Co., OH. She married Charles Thomas Ireland. Catherine Shobe died on 7 January 1900 at Allen Co., OH, at age 92.

     Anna Shock was born on 12 January 1787 at Lancaster Co., PA. She married Joseph Zug. Anna Shock died on 23 June 1825 at age 38.

     Note: Appears to have never married, per 1900 census.¹ Benjamin Shock was born in February 1854 at Stark Co., OH.^2,1 He was the son of Henry Shock and Magdalena Triem. Benjamin Shock lived in 1900 at Ellsworth, Ellsworth Co., KS.¹

     Eliza Shock was the daughter of David Shock.¹ Eliza Shock married John Horning, son of Daniel Horning and Sebilla Breuner, on 18 March 1880.¹

     Emeline Shock was born circa 1851 at Stark Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Shock and Magdalena Triem.

     Ferdinand Shock was born circa January 1860 at Stark Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Henry Shock and Magdalena Triem.

     Henry Shock was born circa 1824 at Ohio.¹ He married Magdalena Triem, daughter of Peter Triem and Maria Margaretha Chollage, on 11 March 1845, Per 1900 census, 9 children were born, 6 living as of 1900.²

     Note: Possibly the Henry Shock found in Turkey Creek, Kosciusko Co., Indiana, 1880 census p.11A. Nearby Shock men do not, however, appear to be the correct siblings. DLB 2005. Henry Shock was born circa 1849 at Stark Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Henry Shock and Magdalena Triem.

     Lida Shock married David O. Horning, son of John Horning and Eliza Shock, on 1 October 1912.¹

     Louisa Shock was born circa 1857 at Stark Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Shock and Magdalena Triem.

     Lucas Shock was born circa 1858 at Stark Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Henry Shock and Magdalena Triem.

     Gailene Diana Shockley was born on 29 June 1953 at Stanislaus Co., CA. She was the daughter of James Bruce Shockley. Gailene Diana Shockley died on 27 December 1981 at Medford, Jackson Co., OR, at age 28. She was buried at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens, Grants Pass, Josephine Co., OR, Findagrave #88166894.

     James Bruce Shockley was born on 20 February 1933 at Randlett, Cotton Co., OK. He was buried at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, Merced Co., CA, Findagrave #1177503. He began military service on 20 February 1950 Korean War service, U.S. Army, enlisted, Pvt., discharged 16 DEC 1953. He died on 10 December 1994 at Stanislaus Co., CA, at age 61.

     John Thomas Shockley married Ellen Tice, daughter of John Tice, on 21 December 1924 at Wayne Co., IL.

     Julia A. Shockley was born on 30 July 1848 at Michigan.¹ She was the daughter of Clement Shockley and Phebe Davis. Julia A. Shockley married William M. Forrest, son of Hamilton Forrest and Susan Starkey, circa 1874, two children born, one (Cletie) living as of the 1900 census. William and Julia also adopted a girl, Carrie E. Forrest, born may 1887 in Michigan.¹ Julia A. Shockley died on 11 October 1917 at age 69. She was buried in October 1917 at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles, Berrien Co., MI, Findagrave #107567392.

     Phianna Kay Shockley was also known as "Ann". She was born on 15 May 1938 at Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., IA.¹ She was the daughter of Solon Floyd Shockley and Marjorie Elizabeth Goff.¹ Phianna Kay Shockley married Raymond S. Cantonwine, son of Leland Laverne Cantonwine and Ida Marie Moubry, in 1955. Phianna Kay Shockley and Raymond S. Cantonwine were divorced. Phianna Kay Shockley lived between 1979 and 2008 at Kansas City area, Johnson Co., KS. She died on 1 February 2008 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO, at age 69

Phianna “Ann” Shockley Guetzlaff, 69, of Olathe, Kan., formerly of Vinton, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Atkins, by the Rev. Mike Andrew. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Rural Cedar Rapids. Visitation: Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Vinton, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday.

She was born May 15, 1938 in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to Floyd and Marjorie (Goff) Shockley and graduated from Washington High school in Vinton with the class of 1956. She then attended Southeastern Community College in Burlington, where she received an associate degree.

On Oct. 20, 1979, she married Donald Guetzlaff at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The couple had made their home in the Kansas City area since 1983. Ann was a legal secretary at Lathrop & Gage Law Firm in Kansas City, retiring in 2002. She was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping, especially when she found a real bargain. She adored her parrot Kiwi and her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her grandchildren and following their athletic events.

She is survived by her husband Don of Olathe, Kan; her son, Steve (Diana) Cantonwine of St. Louis, Mo; her daughters, Christy Doeschot of Firth, Neb., Julie (John) Vogt of Atkins and Kelly Wulfkuhle of Topeka, Kan; nine grandchildren; one brother, Allen Shockley of La Porte City, Iowa; and one sister, Drusilla Brunssen of Cedar Rapids.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her grandson Matt Cimfel; her sister, Linda Sand; and her brother, Merle Shockley.

A memorial fund has been established.

She was buried in February 2008 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA.

     Solon Floyd Shockley was born on 23 June 1895 at Iowa.¹ He married Marjorie Elizabeth Goff on 3 February 1934 at Washington Co., IA. Occupation: Rural mail carrier at Mt. Pleasant, Henry Co., IA.¹ Solon Floyd Shockley died in July 1960 at age 65. He was buried in 1960 at Eicher Cemetery, Washington Co., IA, Findagrave #56829427.

     Winnie Earline Shockley was born on 16 August 1904 at Sylvatus, Carroll Co., VA. She married James William Copenhaver. Winnie Earline Shockley died on 28 December 2003 at age 99.

     (?) Shoemaker married Elvina Schultz, daughter of (?) Schultz and Elizabeth Rebecca Leiss, before 1865.

     Alfred Ohmar Shoemaker was born on 11 February 1937 at Montgomery Co. (probably), OH. He was the son of William A. Shoemaker and Angeline Anna Ebert. Alfred Ohmar Shoemaker lived in 2010 at Blanchester, Clinton Co., OH. He died on 4 January 2011 at age 73.

     Allan F. Shoemaker was born in 1878. He married Alice Wing Brooks, daughter of Harry Elam Brooks and Adelaide Dencie Loomis, after January 1920. Allan F. Shoemaker died before April 1930.

     Bertha Shoemaker was born circa 1883 at Ohio.¹ She married Carl C. Steiert circa 1906.¹
