Demma Snapp.¹ Frances Fern Siler married Claud Raymond Painter, son of Jake Painter and Stella Frances McDaniel, on 18 February 1939. Frances Fern Siler died on 14 April 2001 at Hollister, Taney Co., MO, at age 79. She was buried in April 2001 at Ozarks Memorial Park, Branson, Taney Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 23744189.

     Glenna Siler was born on 3 January 1924 at Packard, Whitley Co., KY. She married Jesse James Wright circa 1939. Glenna Siler died on 25 November 2002 at Milford, Clermont Co., OH, at age 78. She was buried in November 2002 at Wright Cemetery, McCreary Co., KY, Findagrave #149162759.

     Kevin Siler was born circa 1972. He died on 31 March 2008.

     Mildred Jene Siler was born on 2 December 1917 at Springfield, Greene Co., MO. She was the daughter of Ithamer Sank Seiler and Phoebe R. Demma Snapp. Mildred Jene Siler died on 7 October 1918 at Springfield, Greene Co., MO. Cause of death: Influenza. She was buried in October 1918 at Edwards Cemetery, Kirbyville, Taney Co., MO, Find A Grave Memorial# 23859981.

     Peggy Sue Siler was born on 10 April 1930 at Springfield, Greene Co., MO.¹ She was the daughter of Ithamer Sank Seiler and Phoebe R. Demma Snapp.¹ Peggy Sue Siler married John Adams on 10 June 1950. Peggy Sue Siler died on 15 December 2008 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL, at age 78 Obituary (findagrave.com):

Surviving are her husband; a son, Gerald W. Adams; a daughter, Tana Hess; six grandchildren, Brandi (Eric) Diffy, Brittany Wright, Kylee Wright, Sabrina Adams, John Michael Adams and Faith Adams; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Diffy and Trista Diffy; a sister, Ethel Tience Hilton; and a brother, Phillip Seiler.

Peggy was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Peggy worked most recently at the Community Workshop in Peoria as a trainer, in the kitchen and production department.

She was buried in December 2008 at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, Peoria Co., IL, Find A Grave Memorial# 32388618.

     Philip L. Siler was born circa September 1927 at Springfield, Greene Co., MO.¹ He was the son of Ithamer Sank Seiler and Phoebe R. Demma Snapp.¹

     Note: Possibly daughter of John and Magdalene Silk of Kankakee, found in the 1880 census, Kankakee City, p.222D. DLB 2010. Sadie Silk was born in April 1876 at Illinois.¹ She married Samuel Reuben Berry, son of Emanuel Berry and Mary Farrow, in 1891 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL. Sadie Silk died in 1943 at Peoria, Peoria Co., IL.

     Virginia Silkman married John G. Patterson.¹

     James E. Silkwood married Ella Bell Duncan, daughter of Thomas Duncan and Elizabeth Kitzmiller, on 7 September 1893 at Greene Co., IL.

     Adoline Hubble Sill was born on 7 October 1869 at California; father born Canada, mother born Ohio, per 1900 census.¹ She married William Russell Frink on 7 November 1877 at California. Adoline Hubble Sill lived on 13 June 1900 at 171 Second Street, San Jose, Santa Clara Co., CA.¹ She died on 3 May 1946 at age 76. She was buried in May 1946 at Greenlawn Cemetery and Mortuary, Bakersfield, Kern Co., CA, Findagrave #124004453.

     Note: Blanche Sill was born in Pennsylvania in 1858, the daughter of John and Mary (Stiver) Sill. Mary died in childbirth, and Blanche was raised by her father and her mother's sister, Mariah. When Blanch was twelve*, Mariah and husband Jacob Fetter moved their family to Leesburg, Tennessee. They took Blanche with them. Twice Blanche's father came to Tennessee to coax her home, but she was happy and thriving in Leesburg. She was educated in private Lutheran Boarding Schools and also at Washington College, in Washington College, Tennessee. (Much of this information was provided by Mary Russell (DeVault) Butcher.)

Jacob and Mariah (Sill) Fetter, their two children, Mariah's brother, Frederick Sill, and Frederick's one-year-old daughter, Blanche Sill, are shown living together in the 1860 Census for Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Jacob and Mariah, daughter Sarah Fetter, son Thomas Reuben Fetter and Thomas' wife, Nancy (Dickins) Fetter moved from Pennsylvania to Leesburg, Washington County, Tennessee shortly after the Civil War. They are shown there in the 1870 Census and Blanche is listed as being eleven years old. The Fetter's daughter, Sarah Fetter, married a Gideon W. Carmack. Gideon was a brother of Mary Caroline (Carmack) DeVault, second wife of John Davault.

Leah Cromwell Sill was Blanche's grandmother. Leah was reportedly also grandmother to Charles Cromwell (husband of Doris Duke) and to his sister, Margaret Cromwell (first wife of General Douglas McArthur), but these relationships are not confirmed.

There is an old photo of the DeVault Tavern showing a number of guests in the yard. The caption says that it was on the occasion of Frederick Russell "Russell" Davault going to visit Blanch Sill before they were married. In order to make sense of all of this, one needs to know that the Fetters were living in the DeVault Tavern. Prior to the Civil War, John Davault, who had inherited the Tavern, had moved with his family to the nearby farm known as Sunnyside. (Sunnyside or Sunny Side was a farm and large brick house originally owned by the family of John's wife, Amanda Jane (Russell) Davault. At the time that the above mentioned photo was taken, probably the late 1870s, Russell was living with his family at Sunnyside. Russell and Blanche were married in 1880. Russell and Blanche lived their entire lives in the DeVault Tavern, Leesburg, Tennessee.

Blanche Etta Sill was born on 28 October 1858 at Bedford, Bedford Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of Frederick Sill and Mary Stiver.¹ Blanche Etta Sill married Frederick Russell DeVault, son of John DaVault and Amanda Jane Russell, on 4 February 1880 at Leesburg, Washington Co., TN. Blanche Etta Sill died on 7 December 1952 at Leesburg, Washington Co., TN, at age 94. She was buried in December 1952 at Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Leesburg, Washington Co., TN.

     Frederick Sill was born circa 1829 at Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of Leah Cromwell. Frederick Sill married Mary Stiver.

     Sarah A. Sill was born on 25 February 1852. She was the daughter of Thomas Sill and Elizabeth (?) Sarah A. Sill married Samuel W. Pusey, son of Stephen Pusey and Elizabeth Woodward, on 4 March 1869 at West Chester, Chester Co., PA.

     Thomas Sill married Elizabeth (?).

     Wilhma Wilson Sill was born on 21 August 1893 at Illinois. She married Paul Fussell on 28 September 1921 at Berkeley, Alameda Co., CA, Ceremony by Rev. Harold E. B. Speight. Wilhma Wilson Sill died on 23 March 1971 at Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 77.

     Lavina Sillin married James Albert Butcher.

     Nancy Sillings married Philip Engleman.

     Arthur Silver was born on 26 August 1884. He was the son of John T. Silver and Alice Matilda Leonard. Arthur Silver died on 1 September 1885 at age 1. He was buried in September 1885 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Ottawa Co., KS, Findagrave #65424191.

     Benjamin Franklin Silver was born on 6 August 1863 at Western, Linn Co., IA. He was the son of David Edwin Silver and Sarah Jane Tallman. Benjamin Franklin Silver died in 1941 at Lucien, Noble Co., OK.

     David Earl Silver was born in 1908 at Iowa.¹ He was the son of Royal Asbury Silver and Myrtle Calline Dow.

     David Edwin Silver was born on 27 May 1831 at Stark Co., OH; son of Archer Barnes and Mary (Edwards) Silver.¹ He married Sarah Jane Tallman, daughter of Benjamin B. Tallman and Sarah Glanville, on 3 January 1858 at Western, Linn Co., IA. David Edwin Silver died on 30 August 1904 at age 73.      Earl Everett Silver was born on 17 August 1884 at Johnson Co., IA, WW I & WW II draft registrations. He was the son of William Edwin Silver and Sarah Isabel Hall. Earl Everett Silver married Essie D. Thompson on 20 July 1910 at Linn Co., IA. Earl Everett Silver lived in 1917 at Linn Co., IA.

     Edward Louis Silver was born on 19 May 1924 at Springville, Linn Co., IA.¹ He was the son of Royal Asbury Silver and Myrtle Calline Dow.¹ Edward Louis Silver began military service WW II service, U.S. Army, Purple Heart, Bronze Star. He married Grace Evelyn Wright on 10 April 1945. Edward Louis Silver died on 28 September 2004 at age 80. He was buried in 2004 at Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City, Linn Co., IA, Findagrave #194747104.

     Eliza E. Silver was born circa 1866 at Iowa.¹ She was the daughter of David Edwin Silver and Sarah Jane Tallman.

     Erma La Vaun Silver was born on 8 August 1912 at Center Point, Linn Co., IA. She was the daughter of Earl Everett Silver and Essie D. Thompson. Erma La Vaun Silver married Weldon Howard Andersen on 1 September 1940 at Center Point, Linn Co., IA. Erma La Vaun Silver died on 26 April 1998 at Weslaco, Hidalgo Co., TX, at age 85. She was buried in 1998 at Newell Cemetery, Newell, Buena Vista Co., IA, Findagrave #59994759.

     Ethel Silver was born in November 1882 at Iowa.¹ She was the daughter of John T. Silver and Alice Matilda Leonard.¹ Ethel Silver married Clarence C. Gage on 26 November 1902 at Home of the bride, Minneapolis, Ottawa Co., KS. Ethel Silver and Clarence C. Gage were divorced after January 1920; Clarence was still married to Ethel as of the January, 1920 federal census, but remarried to Olive "Ollie" Darnell before the April, 1930 census.

     Everett Deloss Silver was born on 13 March 1911 at Center Point, Linn Co., IA. He was the son of Earl Everett Silver and Essie D. Thompson. Everett Deloss Silver married Adaline Maxheim Snyder. Everett Deloss Silver lived on 27 April 1940 at 1430 Sixth Avenue N.E., Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA, laborer, wholesale meat packing.¹ He died on 20 July 1987 at Mower Co., MN, at age 76. He was buried in July 1987 at Grandview Cemetery, Austin, Mower Co., MN, Findagrave #133833250.
