He married Lyra Almeda Larntz, daughter of Rufus Walter Larntz and Irma Almeda Simmons, on 21 March 1946 at Eaton Rapids, Eaton Co., MI. Jesse James Slentz died on 22 April 1993 at Lansing, Ingham Co., MI, at age 76. He was buried in April 1993 at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton Rapids, Eaton Co., MI, Find A Grave Memorial# 57329924.

     Charles William Slifer was born in 1885 at Iowa. He was the son of Theodore Slifer and Mary (?) Charles William Slifer married Nancy Ruth Heckman, daughter of Rev. John Heckman and Harriet E. Price, on 7 January 1908, Ceremony by Rev. John Heckman (father of the bride.)¹ Occupation: Farmer in 1926 at Polo, Ogle Co., IL.¹ Charles William Slifer and Nancy Ruth Heckman were divorced before 3 April 1930. Charles William Slifer died on 18 October 1966 at San Diego Co., CA. He was Church of the Brethren.

     Charlotte Slifer was also known as Elizabeth Wanger book names this child Elizabeth, however she is lsted on the 1920 census as Charlotte. She was born on 25 November 1914 at Polo, Ogle Co., IL.^1,2 She was the daughter of Charles William Slifer and Nancy Ruth Heckman. Charlotte Slifer lived on 14 April 1930 at Polo, Ogle Co., IL, with George and Nancy D. Strickler, apparently due to her parents' divorce.³

     Elizabeth Slifer was born on 22 November 1797 at Frederick Co., MD. She was the daughter of John Slifer and Catherine Brown. Elizabeth Slifer married Isaac Long, son of Isaac Long and Elizabeth Zug. Elizabeth Slifer died on 12 November 1868 at Washington Co., MD, at age 70. She was buried in November 1868 at Charles Downs Farm Graveyard, Downsville, Washington Co., MD, Findagrave #81829097.

Lois Theodora Slifer lived on 19 April 1940 at Albion Twp., Dane Co., WI.² She died on 19 December 2005 at Stoughton, Dane Co., WI, at age 96. She was buried on 23 December 2005 at Eastside Cemetery, Stoughton, Dane Co., WI.

     Mary Catherine Slifer was born on 4 April 1904 at Maryland. She married Jesse M. Long, son of McClellan Long and Laura Agnes Line. Mary Catherine Slifer died on 7 September 1985 at Salisbury, Wicomico Co., MD, at age 81. She was buried in September 1985 at Manor Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Tilghmanton, Washington Co., MD, Findagrave #69565937.

     Nathaniel Slifer was born circa 1790 at Burkittsville, Frederick Co., MD. He was the son of John Slifer and Catherine Brown. Nathaniel Slifer married Elizabeth Long, daughter of Isaac Long and Elizabeth Zug. Nathaniel Slifer died circa 1832 at Washington Co., MD.

     Agnes J. Sloan was born in November 1843 at Pennsylvania.¹ She married Jacob Parvin Starr, son of John Starr and Sarah Lightfoot Parvin, circa 1873.¹ Agnes J. Sloan died in 1911.

     Annie Mae Sloan was born on 9 May 1887 at Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (now OK). She was the daughter of Edward Estel Sloan and Naomi Ann Cole. Annie Mae Sloan married J. T. Haney. Annie Mae Sloan died on 24 June 1923 at age 36.

     Celestine Naomia Sloan was born on 22 May 1904 at Adair Twp., Mayes Co., Indian Territory (now OK).¹ She was the daughter of William Adam Sloan and Delia Sloan.¹ Celestine Naomia Sloan died on 8 February 1989 at Skagit Co., WA, at age 84 Dates per SSDI, last residence Burlington.

     Delia Sloan was born on 20 August 1886 at Macon Co., MO.¹ She was the daughter of William Sloan and May Rettia Cook.¹ Delia Sloan married William Adam Sloan, son of Edward Estel Sloan and Naomi Ann Cole, on 21 December 1902 at Macon Co., MO, Five children born, four living as of 1910 census.² Delia Sloan died on 28 April 1951 at San Bernardino Co., CA, at age 64.

     Edward Estel Sloan was born on 19 October 1850 at Flint District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. He was the son of Dr. William Harvey Sloan and Deborah Starr. Edward Estel Sloan married Naomi Ann Cole, daughter of Adam Cole and Rebecca Evans, on 4 June 1874 at McDonald Co., MO. Edward Estel Sloan lived on 15 June 1900 at Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (now OK).¹ He died on 28 December 1932 at Miami, Ottawa Co., OK, at age 82.

     Eva Lena Sloan was born on 7 May 1891 at Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (now OK).¹ She was the daughter of Edward Estel Sloan and Naomi Ann Cole. Eva Lena Sloan married Isaac Day Trout.

     Florence Cherokee Sloan was born on 3 May 1899 at Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (now OK), 1900 census (June 15) shows 1900 birth year, but also shows age 1. Probably 1899 is correct.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Estel Sloan and Naomi Ann Cole.

     Hattie Elizabeth Sloan was born on 17 January 1903. She married Dennis Ernest Hayworth, son of James Marion Hayworth and Sarah Martha Crawford, on 4 February 1928 at Leon, Decatur Co., IA. Hattie Elizabeth Sloan died in January 1978. She was buried in January 1978 at New York Cemetery, Wayne Co., IA.

     James Edward Sloan was born on 23 July 1905 at Adair Twp., Mayes Co., Indian Territory (now OK).¹ He was the son of William Adam Sloan and Delia Sloan.¹ James Edward Sloan married Virgie Irene Hamilton, daughter of Price Hamilton and Irene Viola Gossadge. James Edward Sloan lived on 29 April 1940 at Bartlesville, Washington Co., OK.² He died on 10 January 1981 at Memphis, Shelby Co., TN, at age 75.

     James Ellis Sloan was born on 7 January 1894 at Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (now OK). He was the son of Edward Estel Sloan and Naomi Ann Cole. James Ellis Sloan married Gillie May Carroll on 1 December 1917. James Ellis Sloan died in 1965.

     Jane Deborah Sloan was also known as "Jennie".¹ She was born on 7 September 1877 at Indian Territory (now OK). She was the daughter of Edward Estel Sloan and Naomi Ann Cole. Jane Deborah Sloan married Elijah William Webb, son of John B. Webb and Barbara Ann Tillery, circa 1900.² Jane Deborah Sloan lived on 2 May 1910 at Adair Twp., Mayes Co., OK.² She lived on 12 March 1920 at Muskogee, Muskogee Co., OK.¹ She lived on 14 April 1930 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA, I assume the Jannie D. Webb, age 53, born Oklahoma, marital status "D", listed on p.12A, Dist. 0413 of the 1930 census was Jane Deborah (Sloan) Webb. DLB 2015. She died on 6 December 1965 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 88.

     John Willis Sloan was born circa 1853 at Honeycreek Twp., McDonald Co., MO.¹ He was the son of Dr. William Harvey Sloan and Deborah Starr. John Willis Sloan lived on 14 July 1870 at Colusa Twp., Colusa Co., CA, living with his half-sister Nancy's Merrill family.²
Note: I suspect he died in California after the 1870 census, as I find no verifiable trace of him after that date. Online genealogies show him variously as John Wesley Sloan, married to Rachel Elizabeth "Betty" Walters and living at McDonald County, Missouri, but those do not check out -- that John Sloan was the son of Columbus and Rebecca (Thompson) Sloan. DLB 2015.

     Juanita Mabel Sloan was born on 7 October 1908 at Adair Twp., Mayes Co., OK.¹ She was the daughter of William Adam Sloan and Delia Sloan.¹ Juanita Mabel Sloan married Eric Harding Potts at Oklahoma. Juanita Mabel Sloan died on 18 November 1999 at Maricopa Co., AZ, at age 91.

     Magdalena Sloan was born circa October 1916 at Mayes Co., OK.¹ She was the daughter of William Adam Sloan and Delia Sloan.¹
