Shetter, son of John Shetter and Nancy Staum, circa 1865 at Franklin Co., PA, Three children born, one (Edgar) living as of 1900 census.2 Susan Elizabeth Smith died on 17 December 1932 at Norristown, Montgomery Co., PA, at age 88

Mrs. Susan Shetter

Mrs. Susan Shetter of DeKalb, Ill. died on Saturday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. M. K. Shaffer of Norristown, according to a message received by her niece, Mrs. Frank Miller of East Catharine street. Mrs. Shetter was the widow of Simon Shetter, formerly of Marion, and removed with her husband to the west many years ago. Four years ago, after the death of her son, who was killed in and automobile accident, she came east to live with her sister. She has relatives in Chambersburg and Franklin County. She was aged 80 years and 18 days.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon and the body will be taken to DeKalb for burial.

She was buried in December 1932 at Oakwood Cemetery, De Kalb, DeKalb Co., IL, Findagrave #135461078.

Mrs. Susie Moniger

Susie Moniger was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 31, 1860, and died December 20, 1928, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. She spent her early childhood in Pennsylvania and later, with her parents, moved to Iowa, where she has since resided. She was married to Jacob Moniger on December 24, 1877, at Elk Point, S.D.

The husband, one son and one daughter preceded her in death.

She joined the Methodist church when a young girl and had remained a faithful member to the day of her death.

She is survived by eight daughters: Mrs.. J. H. Luebs, of Lake Preston, S. D; Mrs J. O. Bliss, of Westfield, Ia; Mrs. S. R. Schuyler, of Huron, S. D; Mrs. J. W. Wilton, of Sioux City, Ia. Mrs. H. D. Nelson, of Eagle Grove, Ia; Mrs. R. A. Hyde, of Huron, S. D; Mrs. B. Fielder, of Sioux Rapids, Ia., ans Mrs. H. H.Hough, of Sibley, Ia; also, thirty-three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brother and two sisters.

The funeral was held and interment made at Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

Mr. Smith, age 62, of Purcell, passed away at his home surrounded by his family.

He was the 3rd of four children born to Raymond Lynn Smith and Betty Margaret (Miller) Smith.

A Maysville and Wayne farm boy, he attended Wayne Schools and graduated with the class of 1971.

He married Deborah Ann Johnson on December 13, 1973 in Purcell. They remained living in the Purcell area where they raised three sons.

In 1974 he began working for the Santa Fe Railroad, later, BNSF, Burlington Northern Santa Fe. He was also a Regional Truck Driver, of bridge and railroad train track ties across the U.S. After 39 years, he retired in 2012 with BNSF Railroad.

Throughout his life he loved working and being in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He also enjoyed working on his farm, spending time on his mower and tractor. One of his most recent hobbies was making figurines out of railroad ties and horseshoes which he enjoyed giving to friends and family. However most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; Parents, Raymond and Betty Smith; Younger brother, Gary Don Smith.

He is survived by: Wife, Debbie Smith; Three sons, Michael, Greg and Chris Smith; Five grandchildren, Hope, Haileigh, Hunter, Maebry and Graydon; One brother, Lee Smith; One sister, Ivy Galloway; Mother-in-law, Betty Johnson; Brother-in-law, Gary Johnson; and Sister-in-law, Teresa Bacon.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Union Hill Baptist Church, Purcell.

Arrangements: Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Memorials: Cancer Treatment Center of America, Tulsa, OK.

     Thomas Alonzo Smith was born on 24 March 1825.1 He married Mary Price Wireman, daughter of John Weierman and Elizabeth Price, on 20 November 1854, Ceremony by Rev. Allen Johns

Wanger book mentions two children, Viginius Price and Anna Elizabeth, but does not show information on Anna Elizabeth.1 Thomas Alonzo Smith began military service During the Civil War, Mr. Smith enlisted as a private in Co. F, 47th Regt. Penna. Vols., Aug. 21, 1861, to serve 3 years. Discharged at Beaufort, S.C., Dec. 15, 1862, on account of physical disability. Again enlisted Aug. 23, 1864, as private in Co. F, 202d Regt. Penna. Vols. to serve 1 year. Discharged Aug. 3, 1865 on special order. Sept. 1, 1864, was appointed 4th sergeant in Co. F. of the 202d Regt. by order of commanding officer W. D. Luckenbach, 1st Lieut. and signed by Chas. Albright, Col., commanding regt. Mr. Smith was a cooper by trade.1

He died on 5 March 1897 at age 71.1

Smith married Daniel Norman Hahn, son of William Charles Hahn and Margaret E. Kline, in November 1937. Virginia A. Smith died on 14 July 2013 at Richfield, Juniata Co., PA, at age 91

SELINSGROVE — Virginia A. Hahn, 91, of 246 Attig Road, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Snyder County, she was born April 29, 1922, the daughter of the late Elmer R. Smith and Eva (Benfer) Smith Dersham.

In November 1937, she married D. Norman Hahn in a marriage that lasted for 65 years until his death in June 2003.

Virginia spent most of her life on a farm as a housewife and mother until 1960 when she began working as an LPN in several nursing homes for 28 years, beginning at Blue Hill, Buffalo Valley, Hollie Peace and Rathfon's, retiring in 1989.

She attended God's Missionary Church in Sunbury for more than 50 years since it began in 1960.

Virginia is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Sharon Hahn and Dan and Brenda Hahn; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joanna Aurand and Esther and Russ Spade; six grandsons and their spouses, Barry and Sherry Hahn, Michael and Joy Hahn, Brian and Ashlee Hahn, Terry and Deserea Aurand, Ted Aurand and Thomas Aurand; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one stepbrother, Eugene Smith.

Friends and relatives will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 2 with her pastor, Jacob Martin, and assistant pastor, Keith Bunch, officiating.

Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide flowers and asks that donations in Virginia's memory be made to God's Missionary Church, 820 Susquehanna Ave., Sunbury, PA 17801.

She was buried in July 2013 at Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, Union Co., PA, Findagrave #113824755.
