     William Hawkins Snapp was born on 10 June 1925 at Johnson City North, Washington Co., TN.¹ He was the son of Thodore Bland Snapp and Charlotte Elizabeth Hylton. William Hawkins Snapp married Mattie Lou Broyles, daughter of Marion Elmer Broyles and Lucy Kate Burgner, on 27 May 1944. William Hawkins Snapp died on 27 December 1989 at Chuckey, Greene Co., TN, at age 64.

     William Henry Snapp was born in 1786. He was the son of Joseph Snapp and Mary Magdalena Clowser. William Henry Snapp married Elizabeth Pfeifer, daughter of Joh. H. Pfeifer, on 21 March 1811 at Frederick Co., VA.¹ William Henry Snapp married Margaret Ann Frye in 1840.

William Lee Snapp

William Lee Snapp, residing on route two, Nelson, passed away at 2:15 o'clock this morning at the Bothwell hospital.

He was born November 22, 1862, in Polk county, Missouri, the son of William and Cordelia Snapp. Mr. Snapp resided in the Nelson community his entire life.

Surviving him are his widow and daughters, Mrs. Orlena Hays of Beaman, Mrs. Mary Deitmaring, also of Beaman, sons, Edgar and Thomas Snapp of Nelson, Horton, the latter of the home, eleven grandchildren, two half-sisters, Mrs. John Murphy and Mrs. Thomas Gillespie of Nelson, two half-brothers, Charles Carroll of Nelson and Walter Carroll of Sweet Springs.

A son, James Snapp, passed away in 1910.

He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Miller's chapel at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon with interment in the church cemetery.

The body was brought to the Gillespie Funeral Home.

Snapp. There is nothing more pleasant than to meet an Missouri old settler who has lived a useful life, reared his family, at peace with the world and friends with his neighbors, and glad to be alive; having accomplished his destined mission on earth-that of rearing an excellent family, creating a home for himself and having provided for his declining years, is the estimable record of Woodford A. Snapp, one of the old timers of Henry County who is still hale and hearty despite his more than three score years and ten as allotted him by divine interpretation of the Scriptures. Mr. Snapp was born June 2, 1847, in old Tennessee, and is the son of A. A. and Lavine (Bird) Snapp, natives, respectively, of Virginia and Tennessee. Both parents come from old Southern families of the true pioneer type. As early as 1848 the Snapp family came to Cooper County, Missouri, and there established their home amid many of their former friends and acquaintances from Tennessee who had preceded them. In this county the elder Snapp created a fine farm, reared a useful family and departed this life after his work was done. W. A. Snapp was reared to young manhood in Cooper County and when he had attained the age of twenty-five years (1872) he started out for himself and made a location in Pettis County, Missouri. Here he followed farming pursuits and was married in September of 1874 to Miss Sarah J. Lacey, a native of Pettis County, and daughter of George W. Lacey one of the well-known citizens of that county. To this marriage were born a large family of children, eight of whom were reared: Alpheus A. Snapp, is a clerk in the Missouri, Kansas & Texas railway offices at Sedalia, Missouri; Mrs. Mary Sargent lives in Bear Creek township; Jacob A. resides in Springfield township, Henry County; Walter M., at home with his parents; Robert L., Tulsa, Oklahoma; Rev. George B. Snapp, a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, now stationed at Chilhowee, Missouri; Mrs. Lillie Myrtle Crouch, Bear Creek township; Fred, a farmer in Bear Creek township. Mr. Snapp has resided in Henry County since the year 1876, made his start in this county, and has owned various farms throughout the county. His fine farm of forty acres located in Bear Creek township is well improved and affords him a comfortable living. It is probable that there is not a more contented nor a happier and jollier citizen in Henry County than Mr. Snapp. He is a Democrat and has always espoused Democratic principles and supported the policies of his party and firmly believes that President Wilson is the greatest living figure in the world today. He and the members of his family are Baptists. Woodford Alpheris Snapp was born on 2 June 1847 at Greene Co., TN. He was the son of Alexander A. Snapp and Lavinia Bird. Woodford Alpheris Snapp married Sarah Jane Lacey, daughter of George W. Lacey, in September 1874 at Pettis Co., MO. Woodford Alpheris Snapp died on 4 March 1925 at Henry Co., MO, at age 77. He was buried in March 1925 at Teays Chapel Cemetery, Henry Co., MO.

     Catherine Snarr was born on 5 December 1797 at Shenandoah Co., VA. She was the daughter of Henry Snarr. Catherine Snarr married Joseph Hottel, son of Joseph Hottel and Barbara Doll, on 18 June 1815 at Shenandoah Co., VA. Catherine Snarr died on 28 February 1873 at Shenandoah Co., VA, at age 75.

     George T. Snarr was born on 26 September 1920. He married Marie Elizabeth Gruber, daughter of Elijah Cotral Gruber and Katherine Mary Korman. George T. Snarr died on 3 December 1999 at age 79.

     Hattie M. Snarr was born in August 1873 at Missouri.¹ She married Andrew Robert Roll on 4 March 1894 at Washington Co., IN.

     Jacob Snarr was born on 17 September 1786 at Virginia. He married Magdalena Bly. Jacob Snarr died on 26 February 1869 at Shenandoah Co., VA, at age 82.

     Occupation: Merchant. Lemuel Snarr was also known as Joseph. He was born circa 1848. He married Rebecca Ann Miller, daughter of Jacob Miller and Rebecca Ann Swartz, on 14 October 1869 at Shenandoah Co., VA.

     Sarah Snarr was born circa 1817 at Toms Brook, Shenandoah Co., VA.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Snarr and Magdalena Bly. Sarah Snarr married John Swartz, son of Johannes Swartz and Susannah Lehman, on 2 April 1836 at Shenandoah Co., VA.¹

     Joseph Snavely married Ann Smith.¹

     Myrtle I. Snavely was born on 5 October 1886.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Snavely and Ann Smith.¹ Myrtle I. Snavely married John Walter Roulette, son of John Daniel Roulette and Annie Mary Rohrback, on 27 November 1907.¹

     Veronica B. Snavely was also known as Fanny. She married Henry H. Hershey, son of Isaac Hershey and Anna Frantz.

     Kenneth Edward Snay was born on 12 October 1921 at Lincoln Park, Wayne Co., MI, WW II draft registration. He was the son of Ora Emerald Snay and Ivy Amelia Kuhn. Kenneth Edward Snay began military service WW II service. He married Grace Mary Lyons, daughter of Earl Charles Lyons and Esther Faye Archer, on 16 August 1947 at Wyandotte, Wayne Co., MI. Kenneth Edward Snay died on 3 April 2013 at New Jersey at age 91

Ken served in WWII, enoyed playing cards and was a member of the Hider Lane Senior Center.

     Ethel R. Snearley was born on 15 August 1915 at Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO.¹ She was the daughter of Walter Triem Snearley and Fannie P. Coggins.¹ Ethel R. Snearley married Earl Adair Blodgett, son of Ira Blodgett, after April 1940. Ethel R.      Fannie Belle Snearley was born on 7 April 1906 at Douglas Co., NE.¹ She was the daughter of Walter Triem Snearley and Fannie P. Coggins.¹ Fannie Belle Snearley married Marion F. Piening, son of William Piening and Mary Evelyn Irwin, circa 1924.² Fannie Belle Snearley died on 25 September 1977 at age 71.
