Joe Edward Sorsby was born on February 6,1926 in Belton, Texas to Lee Bradley Sorsby and Edward Sorsby. He was proceeded in death by his parents. Joe joined our heavenly father on August 22, 2012 at the age of 86. He is survived by his two sisters, Johnnye Welch and Helen Tomlin; brothers and sister in laws, Carl and Jean Sorsby and Jimmy and Diane Sorsby as well as his wife and family. Joe was joined in marriage to Wilma Davalt on December 16,1944 in Houston, TX. They lived in Houston, TX where they raised four children. His sons are Joe Edward Jr. and wife Jill, Sammy Sorsby and wife Brenda, daughters Cathy Kubicek and husband Danny, and Patti Wilson and husband Donald. Joe and Wilma have 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. He has numerous nieces and nephews. Joe enjoyed watching NASCAR races, the Astros (and especially coaching from his chair), hunting and going to ropings. He loved his family and enjoyed life with smiles and much laughter! Joe retired from LTV Energy formally Continental Emsco in 1991. He then worked for Sprint Companies part time until 2002. Joe was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where he was baptized at the age of 79 on November 28,2004. Joe will be missed by his family. There will be a viewing at Heights Funeral Home on Sunday, August 26th from 4:00 to 6:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, 22601 Lutheran Church Road, Tomball, Texas on Monday, August 27th at 11:00AM following a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 in the church lobby. Pall Bearers are grandsons: Jason Shiery, Donald Wilson, Michael Wilson, Frank King, Brandon Wehmeyer and David Sorsby. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Salem Lutheran Church with a memo noted for "Nursery fund".

Joe was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where he was baptized at the age of 79 on November 28,2004. Joe will be missed by his family. There will be a viewing at Heights Funeral Home on Sunday, August 26th from 4:00 to 6:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, 22601 Lutheran Church Road, Tomball, Texas on Monday, August 27th at 11:00AM following a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 in the church lobby. Pall Bearers are grandsons: Jason Shiery, Donald Wilson, Michael Wilson, Frank King, Brandon Wehmeyer and David Sorsby. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Salem Lutheran Church with a memo noted for "Nursery fund".
He was buried in August 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, Harris Co., TX, Findagrave #95890448.
