     Lula Berry was born on 22 June 1862 at Sangamon Co., IL.1,2 She was the daughter of James Green Berry Jr. and Lydia Ann Swigert.1 Lula Berry married William Burke on 29 March 1899, no children. Lula Berry lived between 1900 and 1910 at 621 North Thirteenth Street, St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO.2,3 She lived in 1911 at St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO, per will of James G. Berry. She died on 15 January 1917 at Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS, at age 54

Obituary.

Lula Berry-Burke was born in Sangamon Co., Illinois, in the year 1862, June 22. She moved to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Berry in the year 1884, she was married to William Burke at St. Joseph, Mo., March 29th, 1899. After Mr. Burke’s death in 1914, she moved to Wichita where she lived until her death, Jan. 15, 1917.

Mrs. Burke was a teacher in the rural schools around Rose Hill for several years, then she worked with the A.T. & S. F. Until her marriage. She resided at St. Joseph all her married life. She had many warm friends in Rose Hill who extend their sympathies to the bereaved relatives.

     Margaret Lucille Berry was also known as "Marjory" In Isaac's obituary. She was born on 20 April 1930 at Nevada, Story Co., IA. She was the daughter of Isaac Berry and Bessie Mitchell. Margaret Lucille Berry married Ray Townsend circa July 1950 at Story Co., IA, license reported in the 21 JUL 1950 Ames Daily Tribune. Ray was "of Omaha". Margaret Lucille Berry married Howard Wayne Rice, son of Albert Ward Rice and Anna Zelma Richards, Howard's first wife was Mary Joan Beatrice Johnson. They had four sons and three daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Howard and Joan divorced 21 FEB 1968 at Reno, Washoe Co., Nevada.

Margaret Lucille Berry lived in 1993 at Jefferson, Greene Co., IA. She died on 23 July 2001 at Greene Co. (probably), IA, at age 71 per SSDI, last residence Jefferson.

Marvin and Ruth were married on June 1, 1968, and raised six children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, camping, and playing horseshoes. Marvin also enjoyed visiting family and friends to socialize and share laughs with. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1959. He was retired for the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades Local 246 after 45 years of service. He had “Berry Trained” several painters.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Moss Berry; his second wife, Barbara Bradshaw Berry; his son, Rick E. Berry; his sister, Margaret Berry Rice; his brothers, Robert (Bob) and Larry Berry.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Berry, of Melrose; his children:

2. Theresa (Terri) Miller and her husband, Jerry, of Melrose;
3. Franklin D. Risdal, of Melrose;
4. Vicki M. Street, of Tucson, Ariz;

He was born August 12, 1984 in San Diego, California to James Stuart and Tessie Lin (Devault) Berry. He married Brianna Marie Coker on July 19, 2009 in El Cajon, California.

Matt moved to the Fort Morgan area 3 years ago from San Diego. He was employed as a Corrections Officer in Sterling, Colorado. Matt was a member of the Methodist Church, enjoyed tinkering with cars, doing electrical work, animals, sport shooting, being outdoors, and going to the lake. He was very patriotic. Matt was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family and they were very important to him.

Survivors include his wife Brianna, of Fort Morgan, his father James Berry (Jeanie) of Cody, Wyoming, his mother, Tessie Shoemaker (Frank) of El Cajon, California, brothers, Ronald Berry II of Cody, Wyoming, Robert Berry of El Cajon, California, his sister, Katelynn Berry of Cody, Wyoming, and step-brothers, Clayton Shoemaker of Big Bear, California, and Charlie Shoemaker of Ashland, Oregon.

Memorial Services will be Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush, Colorado. Memorial Services will also be held October 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in El Cajon, California. Inurnment will follow in the Singing Hills Cemetery in El Cajon, California.

RICK E. BERRY

Rick E. Berry, 23 of Cambridge, died Saturday, Jan 22, 1983 in an automobile accident near Cambridge.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Pastor Walter E. Lack will preside. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.

Berry was born Feb. 28, 1959 to Marvin and Ruth E. Rhodes Berry, in Ames. He graduated from Huxley-Ballard High School in 1977, before serving for three years in the U.S. Navy. He had been a member of the Naval Reserves for the last two years while working as a painter for the South Decorating Co., Des Moines.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Dan Risdal of Boone; three sisters, Teresa Thomas of Cambridge and Vicki Reece and Valorie Berry of Boone; four nephews and one niece.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home until the time of the service.
