     Robert A. Starling was born in July 1890 at Henry Co., VA.¹ He was the son of Thomas Starling and Permelia E. Daniel.¹

     Robert Hill Starling was born on 19 September 1788 at Virginia. He was the son of Roderic Starling and Jane Esther Hill. Occupation: County Sheriff about 1818.² Robert Hill Starling died on 16 December 1825 at King William Co., VA, at age 37.

     Note: "Uncle Roderic's descendants, being in the very track of the contending armies, were sadly impoverished in the late war -- a hard fate for those, like them, unaccustomed to labor."

Was a Captain in the militia, according to the Sullivant book, p.75.² He married Jane Esther Hill, daughter of Robert Hill and Hannah Garlick, on 30 November 1787.³ Roderic Starling died on 15 February 1828 at King William Co., VA.

     Roderic Starling married Mary Hill, daughter of Henry Hill. Roderic Starling was born on 24 December 1810. He was the son of Roderic Starling and Jane Esther Hill. Roderic Starling died in 1866 at Gloucester Co., VA.¹

     Salem Ford Starling was born on 25 January 1899 at Henderson Co., KY.¹ He was the son of Stewart Starling and Nellie Ford.¹ Salem Ford Starling died on 12 March 1931 at Henderson, Henderson Co., KY, at age 32.      Sallie W. Starling was born in October 1887 at Henry Co., VA.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Starling and Permelia E. Daniel.¹

     Samuel McDowell Starling was born on 19 September 1807 at Mercer Co., KY.² He was the son of William Starling and Mary McDowell. Samuel McDowell Starling married Elizabeth Ann Gabriella Lewis, daughter of Gabriel Lewis and Mary Bibb, on 29 September 1831.¹ Occupation: Gentleman and late merchant in 1860.² Samuel McDowell Starling lived in 1860 at Hopkinsville, Christian Co., KY.² He died on 15 December 1890 at age 83.

Sarah Starling died on 28 April 1814 at Franklinton, Franklin Co., OH, at age 32. Cause of death: in 1814 Typhus contracted while caring for militia men encamped in Franklinton (War of 1812.) She was buried in 1814 at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Franklin Co., OH, Findagrave #15302800.

Note: Per Joseph Sullivant book, she had two sons who died without issue, and a daughter who married into the Shield (sic) family from Yorktown, and had descendants. She was born in 1758. She was the daughter of William Starling and Jane Gordon. Sarah Starling married Capt. Abraham Archer in 1785 at Virginia. Sarah Starling died in 1797.

     Sarah Carneal Starling was also known as "Sallie". She was born on 11 February 1823. She was the daughter of Edmund Lyne Starling and Ann Maria Todd. Sarah Carneal Starling married Henry Lyne, son of George Lyne and Martha Isabella Hopkins, on 2 January 1849 at Logan Co., KY.¹ Sarah Carneal Starling died on 23 April 1859 at Henderson Co., KY, at age 36 Husband and children were living with the Edmund Starling family in Henderson County at the time of the 1860 census. She was buried in April 1859 at Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, Henderson Co., KY, Findagrave #77565017.

     Sullivant Starling was born on 25 February 1843 at Columbus, Franklin Co., OH. He was the son of Col. Lyne Starling and Marie Antoinette Hensley.
