STOVER, THEOPOLIS [sic]; was born in Licking county, October 1, 1831, and is the eldest son of John and Catharine (Roads) Stover. He came to Fairfield county with his parents, who settled in the center of Liberty township, and there raised a family of five children, three of whom are now living. The father died October 1, 1880. Theopolis attended the district schools till his seventeenth year, when he entered Granville College and remained till he graduated. He then engaged in teaching,a profession which he has followed with little interruption ever since. He taught the Basil schools seven years and the Baltimore school one year. He has acceptably served his township as assessor, clerk and justice of the peace. This last office he has held continuously since 1865, except one term. Mr. Stover was married October 31, 1865, to a daughter of Sebastian Goss. Of his seven children four are now living, viz.: Grace E., Jessie L., John C. and Henry M. The family are active members of the Baptist church.
He was buried in June 1887 at Old Basil Cemetery, Baltimore, Fairfield Co., OH, Findagrave #42104393.

Thomas D. "Danny" Stover, age 69 of Lancaster, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Pickering House. Tom was in Lancaster, son of the late Joseph R. and Ferne (Selders) Stover Sr. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School.
He enlisted in the US Army and served his country in the Vietnam War as a medic. Tom displayed numerous acts of courage and bravery and among other commendations and recognitions, received the Purple Heart. After returning home from Vietnam, Tom worked in construction and carpentry but re-enlisted in the Army to serve as a photojournalist.
Tom is survived by his wife, Connie A. (Smith) Stover of 49 years; son, David B. (Melissa Gibbs) Stover; brother, Timothy Stover, of Hampton, VA; 3 grandchildren, Zakary, Wyatt and Kaylen; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, David and Joseph.
He was buried in August 2016 at Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster, Fairfield Co., OH, Findagrave #170504404.
