Myers.¹ Sarah Ermina Strawn married Albert Lincoln Province, son of Nathan Lincoln Province and Elvira Ridgeway Edwards, on 17 January 1895, Three children born, all living as of 1910 census.² Sarah Ermina Strawn lived in 1900 at Township 3, Glenn Co., CA.¹ She lived in 1910 at Township 3, Glenn Co., CA.² She died on 24 July 1964 at Butte Co., CA, at age 85.

     Theodore Strawn was born on 17 March 1849 at Franklin Twp., DeKalb Co., IL.^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Strawn and Sarah Dean.¹ Theodore Strawn married Margaret Ann McQuillen, daughter of Garret McQuillen and Sarah Rorabaugh, on 20 August 1872 at Ogle Co., IL, Eight children born to the marriage, all living as of 1900 census.² Theodore Strawn died on 11 June 1919 at Kirkland, DeKalb Co., IL, at age 70.

     Zelia Tabitha Strawn was born in 1882 at Colorado.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Gainer Strawn and Mary Matilda Rife. Zelia Tabitha Strawn married Thomas Clayton Johnson, son of Robert Elson Johnson and Deborah Helen Wilt, in 1900. Zelia Tabitha Strawn died in 1960.

John Strean (pronounced Strain) was a son of Robert Strean & Elizabeth McKee who were married 30 July 1778 at Old Luce, Wigtown, Scotland. John was likely a namesake of his paternal grandfather, John Strean. Robert & Elizabeth lived in Ireland before emigrating to America in 1788. Later census lists state that their son John Strean was born in Ireland. Family tradition claims John was born on board ship while his parents were crossing the Atlantic on their way to America.

During the War of 1812, John was a private in Keys' Regiment, Ohio militia.

John Strean was in Knox County, Ohio, as early as 2 Dec 1816 when he married there to Maria Craig, daughter of James & Esther Ann or Hester Ann Craig. Maria (pronounced Mariah) was born about 1800 in Virginia; died 2 March 1871 in Hardin County, Iowa.

John & Maria Strean were in Allen County, Indiana by 1830, later settling in adjacent Whitley County, Indiana, before moving further west to Hardin County, Iowa about 1853 or 1854. John was a farmer; he was also an early teacher in Smith township, Whitley County, Indiana, when the family lived there. He was a naturalized U.S. citizen.

John Strean died of kidney disease on 25 Feb 1860 in Pleasant township, Hardin county, Iowa, near the small town of Point Pleasant. The places of burial of John & Maria are unknown. The logical location would be Point Pleasant cemetery, but I found no grave markers for them there nor in other nearby cemeteries such as Rough Woods. However, their tombstone inscriptions may simply have worn away. Most of the gravestones in central Iowa in that time period were of locally-quarried soft limestone, which did not weather well. At the time of John's death, he owned 60 acres of improved farm land, 125 acres of unimproved land, two horses, one milch (milk) cow, and five swine.

Pence and Sarah Wendel, in 1851.¹ Sarah Strean died on 10 September 1861 at Indiana at age 29. She was buried in September 1861 at Rousseau-Pence Cemetery, Columbia City, Whitley Co., IN, Findagrave #22466966.

     Christian Burckhard Streccius was born on 8 October 1746 at Völklingen, Palatinate. He was the son of Johann Caspar Streccius and Maria Johannetta Dern. Christian Burckhard Streccius married Maria Katharina Munzinger, daughter of Johann Adam Munzinger and Anna Barbara Müller, circa 1772. Christian Burckhard Streccius died on 15 November 1833 at Ottweiler, Palatinate, at age 87.

     Occupation: Lutheran minister and church superintendant at Ottweiler, Palatinate. Johann Caspar Streccius married Maria Johannetta Dern, daughter of Johann Friederich Dern. Johann Caspar Streccius was born in 1713. He died in 1782.

     Johann Christian Streccius was born on 17 August 1773 at Bruchmühlbach, Palatinate (now Rhein-Pfalz), Germany. He was the son of Christian Burckhard Streccius and Maria Katharina Munzinger.
