Eugene Stuart, 81, Mitchellville Eugene R. Stuart, 81, of Mitchellville, died of a kidney ailment May 31, 1998, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services were held June 5 at First Congregational Church of Mitchellville, where he was a member, with burial in Mitchellville Cemetery.

Mr. Stuart was born in Carlisle and had lived in Mitchellville most of his life. He retired as an engineer for WHO-TV and was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion and was vice president of Mitchellville Community Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy West of Altoona, Joyce Heberly of Pleasant Hill and Joan Stuart of Clive; two sons, Robert of Earlham and John of Thorton, Colo; a brother, Dave of Altoona; two sisters, Jenta Nason of Des Moines and Mary Jenson of Greenwood, Del; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

He was buried in June 1998 at Mitchellville Cemetery, Mitchellville, Polk Co., IA, Findagrave #67211264.

     Thomas Stuart was born on 19 May 1843 at Falls Twp., Hocking Co., OH. He was the son of William Stuart and Mary Grove. Thomas Stuart died on 11 September 1863 at Nashville, Davidson Co., TN, at age 20.

     Walter Clinton Stuart was born on 29 October 1918 at Bixby, Iron Co., MO. He began military service on 20 October 1942 WW II service, U.S. Army, enlisted, discharged 7 FEB 1946. He married Gladys Marie Lyne, daughter of Edmond Starling Lyne and Fannie Lobmaster, in January 1949, marriage license reported in the 11 JAN 1949 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, page 19. Walter Clinton Stuart died on 2 October 1990 at Missouri at age 71. He was buried in October 1990 at Friends Hill Cemetery, Oran, Scott Co., MO, Findagrave #199956683.
