     John Hezekiah Tharp was born on 2 April 1865 at Monroe Co. (probably), IA.¹ He was the son of Timothy Smith Tharp and Amanda Jane Hull.¹ John Hezekiah Tharp married Anna Thompson, daughter of Jeremiah C. Thompson and Letitia Ann Fowler, on 4 March 1883.      Lloyd W. Tharp was born circa 1904 at Greene Co., PA.¹ He was the son of Thomas M. Tharp and Laura B. Wendell.¹

     Mary Tharp was born on 10 May 1866 at LaGrange, Troup Co., GA. She married George William Rankin. Mary Tharp died on 15 December 1955 at Throckmorton, Throckmorton Co., TX, at age 89.      Mary Lou Tharp was born on 27 April 1927 at Prosperity, Washington Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of John Blatchley Tharp and Gail Gertrude Wendell.¹ Mary Lou Tharp married Andrew Clyde Bedilion, son of Andrew Clark Bedilion and Ida Mae Brownlee, on 19 February 1946. Mary Lou Tharp lived in 2009 at Graysville, Greene Co., PA. She died on 5 May 2012 at Waynesburg, Greene Co., PA, at age 85 Obituary (findagrave.com):

Mary L. Bedilion, 85, of Graysville, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.

She was born April 27, 1927, in Prosperity, daughter of the late John B. and Gail Wendell Tharp.

On February 19, 1946, she married Andrew Clyde Bedilion, who died November 9, 2011.

Mrs. Bedilion was a homemaker and had worked as a seamstress at Greenway Manufacturing and Berkowitz Manufacturing in Waynesburg. She also helped her husband manage Bedilion's Garage in Graysville.

She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Graysville and the Women's Auxiliary of Graysville Volunteer Fire Company. She participated in several local bowling leagues and enjoyed playing bingo and fishing.

Surviving are five children, Glenda Griffith, William Arvin Clyde Bedilion, Patrick Andrew Bedilion and Alva Kenneth Bedilion, all of Graysville, and Eric S. Bedilion of Sycamore; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Nellie Durbin of Rogersville, Shirley Justice of Stow, Ohio, and Carolyn Davenport of Waynesburg.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a granddaughter, Daianara Dawn Bedilion; five brothers, Jack, Kenneth, Carl, Fred and Johnny Tharp; and a sister, Pauline Strope.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, with Pastor Lanny Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Wind Ridge.

     Pauline Tharp was born on 18 October 1920 at Franklin Twp., Greene Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of John Blatchley Tharp and Gail Gertrude Wendell.¹ Pauline Tharp married Charles Lloyd Strope on 24 November 1941. Pauline Tharp lived in 2009 at Oak Forest, Greene Co., PA. She died on 13 November 2010 at Waynesburg, Greene Co., PA, at age 90 Obituary (findagrave.com):

Pauline T. Strope, 90, of Center Township (Oak Forest), Greene County, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, in the Southwest Regional Medical Center emergency room, Waynesburg.

She was born October 18, 1920, in Franklin Township (West Waynesburg), a daughter of the late John Batchley and Gail Gertrude Wendell Tharp.

Mrs. Strope had resided in Center Township most of her life.

She was a member of the former Oak Forest Methodist Church, had attended Rogersville Christian Church and had been attending First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg, as long as her health permitted.

Mrs. Strope was a member of Waynesburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793 auxiliary, Waynesburg Senior Citizens and the Senior Bowling League, where she was an active participant with the Lollypop bowling team.

She also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Strope was a graduate of Center Township High School.

She was last employed by Berkowitz Sewing Factory and Flushing Shirt Factory for 30 years prior to her retirement.

On November 24, 1941, she married Charles Lloyd (Jake) Strope, who died March 25, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Huff Cooper of Pikeville, N.C., and Jane, wife of Clyde Sandidge of Simpsonville, S.C; a son, Robert L., husband of Helen Strope of Rogersville; six grandchildren, Rhonda Huff Williams, Kevin Huff, and Charles, Rob “Bubby” and twins Bill and Blake Strope; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Lou, wife of Clyde Bedilion of Graysville, Nellie Durbin of Center Township, Shirley, wife of Hal Justice of Stow, Ohio, and Carolyn, wife of Cy Davenport of Waynesburg (Eastview); and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Strope also leaves behind her companion and best friend for the past 20 years, Ray Davis Jr.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a granddaughter, Debra Lynn Sandidge, and five brothers, Jack, Kenneth, Carl, John and Fred Tharp.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, with the Rev. Harry Rich officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society or Sara Care (Hospice).

     Samuel M. Tharp was born on 3 January 1840. He married Nancy E. Wendell, daughter of Cyrus W. Wendell and Margaret Spears. Samuel M. Tharp died on 30 June 1927 at Richhill Twp., Greene Co., PA, at age 87 Obituary (Findagrave.com):

Samuel Tharp, an aged citizen of Richhill township, died at his home near Wind Ridge, Wednesday night, June 29, aged 87 years. His death was due to a stroke of paralysis. He was a well known farmer. Besides his wife he leaves the following children: D. M. Tharp of Wind Ridge, R. D. 2; Levi Tharp, of Sugar Grove; Perry Tharp, of Ohio; Mrs. Laura Greer, of Sugar Grove; Mrs. A. J. Polen, of Ryerson Station, and Mrs. Samuel McVey, of Cameron, W. Va. The funeral was held Saturday, at 10 a.m. Interment in family cemetery.

     Thomas Franklin Tharp was born on 26 October 1866 at Pennsylvania death certificate shows 1865, but all census listings are consistent with 1866.¹ He married Cecilia Ann Kent circa 1891.¹ Thomas Franklin Tharp died on 6 June 1946 at Franklin Twp., Greene Co., PA, at age 79.

     Thomas M. Tharp was born in April 1866 at Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of Abner Tharp and Anna (?) Thomas M. Tharp married Laura B. Wendell, daughter of George W. Wendell and Mary Virginia Murdy, on 6 May 1899 at Sugar Grove, Warren Co., PA. Thomas M. Tharp died on 3 October 1905 at Greene Co., OH, at age 39.

Tharp and Huldah Cox.¹ Timothy Smith Tharp married Amanda Jane Hull, daughter of John Patton Hull and Elizabeth Hevener, on 27 August 1853 at Highland Co., VA. Timothy Smith Tharp died on 19 February 1890 at Monroe Co., IA, at age 53.

     William Denton Tharp married Emma Catharine Price, daughter of Jacob S. Price and Rachel Davis, in 1891.

     Woodrow Jackson Tharp was born on 11 October 1918 at Greene Co., PA.¹ He was the son of John Blatchley Tharp and Gail Gertrude Wendell.¹ Woodrow Jackson Tharp began military service WW II service. He died on 28 March 1990 at age 71.

     Bert William Thatcher was born on 23 September 1887 at California. He married Irma Craig, daughter of Johnie William Craig and Amanda Alice Fitzwater, after April 1910.
