Nellie Irene Bordeaux died on 24 September 1952 at New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO, at age 80 OBITUARY - Montgomery Standard, October 02, 1952
Mrs. W. H. Knox Dies At New Florence
Nellie Irene Bordeaux, daughter of Edward and Martha Kely Bordeaux, was born in Shipman, Illinois, on January 25, 1872, and passed away at her home near New Florence, Missouri, on September 24, 1952. On October 23, 1890, she was united in marriage with William Henry Knox. To this union three children were born: David Franklin, of the home; Clara Louise (Mrs. E. H. Duebbert), and William Henry both of St. Louis.
In early life she united with the Methodist Church of New Florence and ever lived a Christian life. She was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star of the New Florence Chapter and was one of its early Past Matrons. At the time of her death she was a member of Montgomery Chapter No. 388. She held membership in the New Florence Rural Extension Club and had been a member of an extension club longer than any other person in this county. She was also a member of the New Florence Study Club. Mrs. Knox possessed a cheerful disposition and numbered her friends by her acquaintances. Her hospitality was renowned, and many happy hours were spent in her home by friends and relatives. She had a vast knowledge of practical things, and many times her advice was sought by those less experienced and less skillful than she. As she became more advanced in years her interests remained varied, and her energy was remarkable. A great bond of affection existed between her and her son-in-law and daughters-in-law, one of whom lived in her home for many years.
Besides her devoted children she leaves three granddaughters; Dorothy Louise Duebbert, Mildred
Knox Duebbert, and Nancy Carol Knox, of St. Louis; a grandson James Knox; a brother, Luther Bordeaux of Montgomery City; two sisters: Mrs. Rose Barnes of Cuba, Missouri, and Mrs. M. A. Green, of Montgomery City; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. W. H. Knox, of St. Louis, and Mrs. D. F. Knox, of the home; a son-in-law, E. H. Duebbert, of St. Louis; two sisters-in-law: Mrs. Gene Bordeaux, of Chamelon, Illinois, and Mrs. Luther Bordeaux, of Montgomery City; one brother-in-law, M. A. Green, of Montgomery City; besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the New Florence Methodist Church by a former paster, Rev. P. C. Paschal, assisted by Rev. Jon Kirk, with interment in the New Florence Cemetery under the direction of the Eastern Star.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were E. H. Duebbert, Misses Dorothy and Mildred Duebbert, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Knox, Jr., and daughter Nancy, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Creissen, Mrs. T. I. Tritch, Mrs. A. C. Kercher, Mrs. Lynn Ward, Miss Bernice Bordeaux, of St. Louis; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson, of Fulton; Tinsley Bordeaux of Terra Haute, Indiana; H. W. Dornan of Labadie; and Miss Dora Crane of Warrensburg.

She was buried in September 1952 at New Florence Cemetery, New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO.
