Lemuel Warren
M, b. 7 August 1811, d. 28 August 1873
Note: Regarding the deaths and burials of Lemuel and Elizabeth Warren (per Joy Warren):
They died during a cholera epidemic. Elizabeth died first, and her body was taken to Lincoln to be buried in the family plot, which we have seen. When the men who took her in came home Lemuel was dead so they took him to Lincoln to be buried with his wife. There was just one little problem. Elizabeth was Catholic and Lemuel wasn't. When his family, I suppose brothers and sisters, found out they said, "Ain't no Warren going to be buried in no Catholic cemetery," and went to get him and buried him in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in New Holland.
Lemuel Warren was born on 7 August 1811 at Pike Co., OH. He was the son of Henry Warren and Nancy Anthony. Lemuel Warren married Elizabeth Wendell, daughter of William D. Wendell and Effie Margaret DeLong, on 29 September 1839 at Pike Co., OH. Lemuel Warren died on 28 August 1873 at New Holland, Logan Co., IL, at age 62. Cause of death: Cholera epidemic. He was buried in 1873 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Middletown, Logan Co., IL, Findagrave #64767908.
