ANDREW WALLUKAIT

Humboldt- Andrew Wallukait, 97, Humboldt, died Wednesday at Tompkins Health Center in Fort Doge.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral home in Humboldt, with the Rev. Russell Dilley, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, Officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt.

Survivors include daughters, Marie Rundle, Bella Vista, Ark. and Patricia Reid, Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Christine Beebe, Humboldt; and brothers, Chris, Fort Dodge, and john, Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brothers.

He was born Sep. 14 1896 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At age 6, he moved with his family to Dakota City, where he was educated. He graduated from Humboldt High School. He attended Iowa State University in Ames and became a civil engineer. He served in the United States Army during World War I and married Minnie Munger in 1923 in Des Moines. They lived in Adel, where he was employed as the Dallas County engineer for more than 40 years. After retiring, they moved to Dakota City in 1967. His wife died in 1979. He then lived in Humboldt before moving to Bella Vista, Ark. for six years. In 1991, he moved to Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

He was a member of the American legion and was a 50-year member of the Masonic lodge. He also was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, where he served as a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent. He also served as a Boy Scout leader in Adel.

He was buried in September 1993 at Union Cemetery, Humboldt, Humboldt Co., IA, Findagrave #42122490.

R. Neill Walshe Taken by Death

A well-known El Paso attorney, R. Neill Walshe, died late yesterday in his home at 4100 North Stanton Street. Mr. Walshe was 50. He had been associated with the law firm of Walshe and Newman in recent years.

Mr. Walshe was a member of a pioneer El Paso family and was born here. His father began practicing law in El Paso in 1899. Mr. Walshe was past president of the El Paso Bar Assn., and a member of the State Bar of Texas. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States last June.

He had served as assistant U.S. district attorney and assistant City attorney in charge of tax and condemnation matters. He held the last post for 13 years on a part-time basis.

Mr. Walshe graduated from El Paso High School and attended Texas Western College. He received his law degree from the University of Texas Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1932. He was appointed as the first School Board attorney in 1934.

He served with the Army Signal Corps during World War II, entering in 1943. He was past president of the Owls Club and a member of St. Clement Episcopal Church.

Mr. Walsh is survived by his wife, Mrs. Argyra Walshe; a son, Robert Clive Walshe II; a daughter, Mrs. David S. Burkett; an aunt, Mrs. Hazel McCaffery, and one grand-daughter, all of El Paso. Funeral arrangements are pending with Kaster and Maxon Funeral Home.
