     Margaret Geannetta Waters was born on 17 December 1848 at Ash Ridge, Brown Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of John L.      Barzillai Watkins was born circa 1837 at Gallia Co., OH, 1860 census shows North Carolina, but 1850 shows he and his siblings were all born in Ohio.^1,2,3 He was the son of Jefferson Watkins and Sarah Ratekin. Barzillai Watkins married Ann Maria Womeldorff, daughter of Daniel Warren Womeldorff and Harriet Newell Kerr, on 8 April 1862 at Gallia Co., OH. Barzillai Watkins began military service Civil War service, Co. B and Co. C, 22nd Ohio Infantry, pension application no. 668347 approved for his widow in 1897. He died before 1870 probably in Ohio. Anna Watkins, age 30, was working as a domestic in the household of James W. Robinson in Tazewell County, Illinois as of the 1870 census. Her daughter Carrie was living in her brother George's household in Livingston County.
