William M. Windle

     Note: Obituary from Tuesday Nov. 17, 1925:

William Windle a former Rarden man died Monday at his home in Clermont County , where he removed several years ago. He was about sixty-five years of age and his death was caused by cancer of the stomach. Windle served as marshall of Rarden for a number of years and while serving in that capacity was shot and severely wounded by James Langthorn during a gun battle on the village street about 25 years ago. He is survived by his by his widow and four children, Lora Windle of Kentucky, Arthur of Cincinnati, Mrs. Lloyd South (Pearl) of Clermont County, and Sarah of Chicago. Grafton and Frank Windle are brothers and Mrs. Ella Jenkins of New Boston, Mrs. Alex Jenkins of Norhern Ohio are sisters.

Bullet in Brain- A dispatch to the Cincinati Enquirer tells of Marshall William Windle, of Rarden, who was shot through the brain, walking about cured. The remarkable operation which brought about his recovery was performed by Dr S.S. Halderman, of this city and Dr R.F. Clark, of Rarden.
