Mrs. Mary Westlake

Mrs. Mary Jane Westlake, 82, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Hawkins, in 24 Elizabeth Street, Sunday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock. Death resulted from developments following an illness of influenza and a fall four weeks ago when she broke her left hip.
Mary Jane Watson was born in Coshocton County, April 14, 1838, and was united in marriage to James Westlake who died four years ago. Mrs. Westlake has resided in Newark for the past forty years, and previous to four years ago when she went to the home of her daughter, she had resided in North Cedar Street.
She has been a member of the First M. E. Church for the past forty years. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. J. E. Horn of 205 N. Cedar Street, Mrs. Anna Haymond of 53 Kibler Avenue, Mrs. Clifford Hawkins, two sons: C. B. Westlake of Pittsburgh and J. H. Westlake of Detroit: one sister, Mrs. Eliza White of Huntington, W.Va.: Joseph Watson of Cooperdale.
The funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the Hawkins home in Elizabeth Street. The hour of the service has not been arranged. Interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

FOGLE

Mrs. Kenneth E. (Virginia) Fogle, 56, of Salesville Route 1, died at 6:30 pm Thursday in Barnesville General Hospital.

Mrs. Fogle was assistant pianist at Middlebourne United Methodist Church and was a former employee of RCA and the J.C. Penney Co., both in Cambridge.

Born March 26, 1920 in Noble County, she was a daughter of Stanley Watson of Salesville Route 1 and the late Blanche Watson.

Surviving in addition to her husband, whom she married Nov. 29, 1941, are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Brenda) Smith of Cambridge and Mrs. Richard (Vicky) Starr of Quaker City; one son, William Fogle of Cambridge; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Fogle of Lore City Route 1 and Mrs. Lee (Lois) Ruth Snyder of 813 Race St and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at Eberle Funeral Home in Quaker City where service will be held at 2 pm Sunday. Burial will be in Guernsey County Memorial Gardens.

She was buried in September 1976 at Guernsey County Memory Gardens, Cambridge, Guernsey Co., OH, Findagrave #107067974.
